Puppies that young sleep a lot. When she is awake play with her. Give her lots of toys also. Give her toys that she can chew on. There are plush stuffed animals with squeakers that puppies like. She is too young to begin training her to walk on a leash so it would be nice if she had a nice partly shady partly sunny fenced area with a nice dog house outside with fresh food and cool water so that when she wanted to go out or you wanted her out, she had a safe place to go. Until she gets a little older, she will mostly sleep but as I said in my post earlier, play with her, get her squeaker toys and nylon bones to chew on, and create a partly shady partly sunny fenced area in your back yard with fresh food and fresh cool water. Please make sure that neither the food nor the water bowls are in the sun. At the end of the day, take in the food bowl and water bowl and wash them in warm soapy water like you wash your own dishes. Do not wash them with your dishes, however. It is important to do this, because the puppy could get a germ and get sick if you don't.

Moving in what way?? She's a baby, so right now simply eating and sleeping will occupy most of her day. She really will sleep almost 20 out of 24 hrs. Now is not the time to introduce her to the neighborhood park or friends dogs. Until she is completely vaccinated, she needs to stay in as sanitary of an invironment as possible, so it's a good time for you and her to bond. She probably won't be too interested in toys for a while, but start introducing them to her, so that she realizes she has her things and you have yours - later on that could save you a pair of shoes. As she grows and gets more active, you will want to take her to obedience classes. Shepherd are extremely intelligent, and you want to keep that in check. If you don't find things that they can do, they will find their own means of amuzement, and it might not be to your liking. I have raised many shepherds, and I feel that they are simply the most loyal and loving animal you can have, but they do take a little more work and effort on your part to make them into a perfect pet.

Here's a German website that lists tons of German names and different hyperlinks. A few of my favorites are: Nena, Baerchen, Britta, Foxi, Lola, Ilsa, Maya, Gabi, Helga, Ushi. I named my canine "Olive". Which is also "i'm going to live." I named her this because my earlier German Shepherd had a coronary heart murmur and most effective lived to be 2. Plus my husband died a couple of months earlier than I received her. When the name matches, you'll know.

She will want to play when she is awake (they mostly sleep and play in spurts of 15-20 min). Make sure she has plenty of safe chew toys. With our German shepherd pup we gave her Kong toys, including a ball( much safer than tennis balls!!). You can take her for short walks (less than a mile), after she gets her second set of shots. You don't want to walk her to much, especially on concrete to protect her hips as she is growing. Also avoid letting her jump on/off of things and stairs. (This is what our vet/breeder said to do) they like to play gentle games of tug of war and sometimes play fetch. She is at a good age to begin teaching basic obedience, like sit, down and here as well as gentle leash training. Have fun with her!!
