It depends on the kind of Dog. If you are talking about a Bloodhound, then YES! Cats are much smarter than that breed. But Cairn Terriers and Labs are smart and will get away with a lot of stuff. The same way cats can get away with it. I think it just depends on the breed of dog.

I don't know. Animals are very smart but since i am a dog lover i think dogs are smarter just because they respond more to you and dogs have saved people's lives (just as well as cats)

I think they are smarter, but too much like humans. If something with that kind of personality is going to live with me, it's going to pay half the rent. I love dogs for what they are and they love me unconditionally and mine happen to be quite smart so that is just much better. Good question!! DOGS RULE!!!

no way. have u ever seen a cat being able to do things like saves peoples life play catch and most dogs understand what poeple says. i've seen dogs do amazing things. dogs are smarter.

Nope! I think dogs are definitely smarter. They don't have to talk...somehow you just know what they want and what they are thinking just by their actions. I think they understand alot when you are talking. Sometimes you could say something and they go and hide (for example, with mine, all you have to do is mention the groomers name)! And if you don't feel like taking them for a walk, don't ever mention "leash". lol

nyet, dogs are acutally smarter. cats's rude behavior falsely gives it an air of sophisication and intelligence whereas they are really just difficult animals.
