Dogs - June 2006

My friend and I saw a stray dog get hit by a truck. He was going to be put down but my friend was able to find a vet that vollunteered his time and a rescue place willing to pick up the $1500.00 tab and my friend offered her home for the dog to recover after surgery. What type of person are you and how far would you go?

I have asthma and allergies. I've been thinking of getting a schnauzer, but would like to know of any other dogs that don't cause as much irratation.

one day me and my friend went up the road to my other friends house. My other friend happened to have a dog. My friend went to rub the dog. The dog allowed him and took it gratefully. I was up next. I walked up to the dog, kneeled down and went to rub him and he starts growling and snapping. He's been doing this for his whole life. I've never hit him or threatened him, i've never smelt cus i have a shower every morning so what is it?

We have a APBT (a pit) and a Golden Retriever both big dogs and then we have the " EJ the little white dog from Hell". I understand that the breed is very devoted and usually devoted to one in the family BUT my little guy attacks my husband, attacks the door when he leaves, attacks his shoes when he is asleep. Waits for him to get out of bed and then jumps at him. My dog is nuts......any of you have a similiar Shihtzu experience or perhaps some helpful advice?

Quick Note: I do spoil him (just a little) BUT I spoil my big boys too.....and that includes my husband.

the vet said she needs to stay away from loud noises and children. she has a dashund about 4 or 5 years old. They said also no other animals and she may need surgery someday but not yet. Any suggestions, she wanted me to search online for her.

Hey all you guys, I m in a lil bit of a situation here. I absolutely adore dogs(& that is an understatement) actually have had one all ma life.

But now that i'm married and stayin with my husband I cant have one at home. Reason being both of us work nights and can't dedicate the amount of time that a lil pup will need.

But cant imagine life without a dog and I'm not kiddin. So pls help me with ideas as how I can manage.

We work from 8pm to 6am and cant have live in help.

I took my dog to the vet the other day and while i was there i asked him if it was all right to give my dog some fruit every once in a while. he told me it was ok as long as i didn't give him any grapes.
