They are looking for spots where other dogs have already gone so they can remark the territory as theirs. Dogs use pee to mark their territory.

Dogshave a natural urge to relieve themselves where the rest of their pack does. They locate the spot by scent; this is why dogs will generally spend some time sniffing the ground before they relieve themselves.

A certain smell I think. Most male dogs will urinate whereever other animals have as well within their territory. I think they are 'looking' for a certain smell that tells them to let it go.

they do that cuz they don't want 2 use the bathroom on someone else's place.they want their own place 2 use some place where no dog has done it

They smell the other dogs urine and think that its there territory so they pee to mark it and let the other dog know its theres!!!:-)
