Vets in my area charge about $35. Do not buy the one that you do at home. They want you to short clip a nail to get the blood needed for the test. If you do that, you will have a problem with nail trimming in the future. Let the vet draw blood, it is less painful for the dog.

I depends on the clinic. They usually do a two part test. One to test for babies called microfilaria. And another for the adults.

For heartworm test. It depends where you go. Look on the website for prices. They have tests you can do from home.

I don't know, I don't think its too outrageous. But, its for sure necessary! So, please get fido tested so he has a long happy life!
