I have a new puppy chihuahua and I want to know what's the better way to teach her how to make her things outside in the yard and not on the floor inside the house.

Thanx for the help.

Actually I don't have a crate and I don't have enough money to buy one for now, so I would like a cheaper way to teach her.

I hung a cat bell by the door. For 1-2 weeks, ring the bell before u take the puppy out to pee. After that, take his paw and ring it for him for 1 week. After that, he should do it on his own. It was a blessing because I Iive in an apartment. Now I just wait for the ring and grab his leash!

I agree. Crate training is very effective than potty pads/newspapers.

U spent how much $$ for the pup, & now can't afford a crate?

no excuses; buy a used one!! yeesh...

crates ARE the best, safest & simplest way to housetrain a pup, or even an adult dog.

it depends on the size of the puppy, but i like piddle pads. if you can teach her to use the piddle pad, you eventually take it outside and then do away with it.
