NO! There are hundreds of pits looking for good homes at shelters all over the country. I paid just over $100 for my pit bull mix.

I would, under these conditions.

It would have to be a registered American Staffordshire Terrier from one of the top kennels in the US. It should already have it's Championship title and very nearly every dog in it's three generation pedigree should have the same. OFA and CERF should be good and clear. And the dog should have sired/whelped one good litter.

I would pay this IF I were interested in breeding and showing AmStaffs, which I'm not now. But just like with any show animal, I'm willing to pay the price to start out right.

No, not when so many good dogs and puppies need homes, and are available for next to nothing. Also, pits are being banned all over the country, due to so many " bad" ones hurting people.

What RabbitMage said.

I would only pay that kind of money for any dog if I were looking for something extremely particular for performance or breed stock. Frankly, that's the only reason I'd get any purebred dog at all. I certainly wouldn't pay that kind of money for random pups or a pet household.

No way! First of all, I don't have 3 grand. And, if I did.. I would spend it on something a lot smarter than a Pitt. Check out www.petfinder.com to find local pets that need a home, and plus there's quite a bit of Pitts on here.

I hate pit bulls so I would not pay a penny.

yes, i did pay $4,000 for mine because he is a blue pit and he is a stud...they are great dogs, it all depends on how you raise them! Blue pits are rare. if it is a regular american pit, no because the most you should pay is $300.

NO. Not when you can get them for free or adopt. Do you realize how many dogs are in shelters just waiting to be adopted? Good dogs that have been trained and have all their shots. Check your local shelter.

No, not even close. There are too many available for adoption. Plus its not my favorite breed. They are good dogs, but my money would go to a Smooth Coat Collie. I love them.

No, I have better things to do with that kind of money. Besides, they are mean dogs and will most lilkey and up having to be put to sleep for attacking someone.
