He is a long haired dauchsund and he has back problems. A year ago he jumped off my bed and was paralyzed for a month from the waist down. I felt like it was my falt. My parents rushed him to the nearest vet hospital open and i was so worried I cried myself to sleep. I though it was my falt I was with him when it happened. The next day at school I broke down my dad told me if he was permantally paralyzed they would have to put him down. The doctors weren't sure if he would get better. i spent a whole month babying him like, giving him pills, giving him baths and curling up with him and watching movies. He is all better now and walks around but he can't jump that well anymore and waddles like a duck. I can't help but think it is all my falt he hurt his back.

My old guy mastiff has cancer and is on a type of hospice. My other two dogs, another mastiff and a weimaraner seem to be acting more gently, slower near him, licking and grooming him. Do you think they know??

Whenever I take my 6 month old golden retriever to the dog park she acts like she is there to see the other people, not the dogs. Sometimes we have a hard time getting in the gate because the other dogs come to greet her and sometimes nip at her. She is very submissive and tucks her tail between her legs and/or tries to jump on the benches to get away. After awhile she calms down...I walk with her to the back area to settle her. But she doesn't want to play like the other dogs. She doesn't like them to jump on her and she won't jump on them. Someone there told me golden retrievers are like that. I just thought it was because she was an only puppy and didn't learn to play. So I'm wondering if it's the breed or the single puppy thing. Does anyone have a golden or a single pup that behaves like this?

My girl dog's front private part (her vagina i guess it would be called) is red and a little swollen and she won't stop licking at it like it's itchy. I already have an appointment to take her to the vet, but i want to know if anybody's dog has ever had a health problem like this so i can know what to expect will be wrong with her.She was spayed over 2 years ago so i know it has nothing to do with her being in heat, or something like that.

Everytime there are fireworks my dog hides under the couch, bed, or in the closet whimpering and shaking. We tried comforting her, stroaking her, playing with her, giving her treats but nothing seems to be working. Anyone have any ideas?

Bones for that purpose don't seem to help and brushing the teeth stresses the dog and me as most of the toothpaste always reaches the floor before getting near the teeth.
Any ideas or food alternatives?

Someone I work with told me about this. It is a remote that you can take with you wherever you go and you can set it up with to how many feet or yards you allow your pet to go.
