Don't blame yourself. Dogs jump. He was lucky you have been giving such good care and now seems recovered. That's why they call accidents-accidents.

Don't feel bad, our dog jumped from our doghouse and tore his ACL and has been at the vet 3 weeks and had surgery and is recovering from it. There are other alternatives to euthanasia, please notify your father that they made mobile units for the back lets with wheels that are like a wheelbarrow for dogs, they walk with their front legs and their back legs rest on the "wheelbarrow". If you take the responsibility to bring a pet into your home then you owe it not to put it down whenever it hurts itself. Your Dad needs to get a clue about pet ownership.

You sound like you're looking for reassurance that it wasn't your fault. But everything that the animal does, from jumping off the bed to biting the mailman is the responsibility of it's owner. My dog cut her back leg in the our yard last month. That was my fault because we didn't change out the sharp edging back there. I'm sorry you're upset and I feel bad for the dog, but it is something you have to accept responsibility for. Be grown up. Accept responsibility for it rather than looking for exoneration, and learn something from it.

if he just jumped off on his on it's NOT YOUR FAULT. Animals are very tuned to people close to them. when you were sick did he come right up to you and lie next to you? same when you were feeling down? i bet he was just as loving to you right up to the end because he KNEW you weren't to blame. it's rough losing a pet you love but if you know in your heart you had no intentions to hurt your dog you have to forgive yourself for whatever reason you feel you need to and let your pet move on to where he's happy and safe. give yourself some time. he'd want you happy. GOOD LUCK AND PEACE.DEFINATELY keep talking with your family, friends, counselor, anyone who will give you the time.

Actually he is a very lucky dog to have you. First of all it is not your fault, accidents happen! You helped him heal by all the love and cuddles you gave him.
They sell doggy steps for smaller dogs to get onto high places like a bed, why not ask your parents to get some?
Good luck!

I'm sure your dog is grateful for all your loving attention. It could have been worse and you should be grateful it wasn't. Accidents happen all the time and we just have to learn to accept what happens. We can't turn back the clock.

I feel very sorry about the accident, but it's ok now.he's back in good health and that's what's important. He jumped and that was his mistake, not yours. I am personaly happy that you where there in his time of need, not your parents.Just be thankful he's alive.
