Keep very close eye on your dog for the next 24 hours. If he/she does pass it will be during that time. If your dog becomes complacent and listless and also has not had a bowel movement after those 24 hours..I would take it to the Vet Immediately

This breed is notorious for swallowing things, even remote controls. The stick shouldn't be a big deal...the dog probably chewed it first like mine did last week with a fudgesicle stick. Just keep an eye on her for any uncharacteristic behaviour such as being quiter than normal or not eating. Check her feces to see if all looks normal. Any problems then see a vet.

No, I would take the dog to the vet for an x-ray. The stick could turn sideways and obstruct the bowels and cause digestive problems.

It depends on how much he chewed up the stick i would think. It could be potentially fairly serious.

I would call your emergency veterinary clinic and try to get them to induce vomiting. I have done this before, and they do bring them up. If you wait to see if she will pass it, you may need to have exploratory surgery. So go to the ER.
