My girl dog's front private part (her vagina i guess it would be called) is red and a little swollen and she won't stop licking at it like it's itchy. I already have an appointment to take her to the vet, but i want to know if anybody's dog has ever had a health problem like this so i can know what to expect will be wrong with her.She was spayed over 2 years ago so i know it has nothing to do with her being in heat, or something like that.

It is possible that she has vaginitis, from either bacteria or yeast. Your vet will determine that by exam and possibly by doing a cytology of the area. (not a big thing, just pressing a slide to the skin to pick up the bacteria/yeast).
If the outer area looks normal, ask your vet about the chances of an ovarian remnant, which can cause the same signs as a heat cycle. These can be left in when the dog is spayed.
Most likely it is a skin thing. Until you get to the vet, try to keep that area clean and dry. Don't apply anything to it, but you can clean it with warm water and a mild soap. Make sure that it is dry, because bacteria and yeast love wet skin! Ewww!

It could be a unrinary infection, or it could be fleas and ticks... my dog did the same thing, she kept licking her um, thing and butt area and they were getting red. That area is warmer I guess and so fleas are attracted too it. Have you noticed any critters on your dog? THIS IS FLEA SEASON! Hartz makes an OK flea treatment try the 5-in-1, its about half the price of what the vet will tell you to use and works about the same I've noticed. they also make a spray you can spray directly in that area but do not mess with that area if its irritated. You are doing the right thing by going to a vet, a physical exam will be the best thing for your dogs safety.

the answer abt 'bacterial, yeast or other' infXn is a good possibility: BUT...
this can also be an OCD [a problem behavior that is obsessive-compulsive].
OCD's are a little harder to 'fix' than an infXn, but they are fixable; don't forget that behavioral problems need behavior-modification, EVEN when the person/animal is already getting =meds=.
the meds decrease the problem behavior; the Beh_Mod
=changes the habit= ,
and is Key! for a permanent fix.

Sounds like a urinary tract infection. Has she been in hot weather? Has she been in any ponds or other standing yuck water? Try to get her to drink more or chew ice cubes till the vet.

Since you claim she couldn't in no way be on heat, i think its an infection or a disease that's causing what she's experiencing now.
Kindly take her to the vet quickly to save her life plssss.

She probably has an infection and it is irritated. It could be from the heat, something in the yard, new detergent that you use for her bed, new food that you are feeding her. I wouldn't worry too much. To me it doesn't sound to serious.
