get a leash called a "Gentle Leader" it works kind of like a harness its GREAT for dogs that like to pull. Places like Pet Smart and such should carry them.

Take your dog to a training class, it's a great time to work on the heel position. Especially since all the other dogs are a great distraction. Also, use either a choke, pinch or halti collar. I don't know what type of dog it is, but if it's a breed that was bred to pull things, do not use a harness. Believe it or not, this teaches them to pull more!!! That is just part of their natural instinct.

It sounds cruel but they make collars that have spikes on the inside so when the dog pulls away it's very uncomfortable for them.It doesn't HURT them and it doesn"t take but a few walks with one of these collars on before they get the hint. You really don't want to be pulling him back as it may cause injury to his throat and or neck.A harness may or may not work to train him to stop pulling but it could take forever.

I have had the same problem with my dog. Now that she is a bit older and more mature she is much better. She just gets so excited with the leash on. I would literally walk down the road and she would do circles around me...so funny. I would have to twirl the leash over my head along with her so that I wouldn't be all tangled up in it! Good luck, I hope you find something that works for you.

Pull him back to set a good pace. Dogs are as smart as human beings and a little bit of positive and negative reinforcement can do the trick.

Depending on the size and breed of your dog. If it is big and strong, you can take it to get leashed trained, possibly petco. if you are low income, you can go to your local pet store like petco and buy a headcollar so it reduces pulling. if it is small, you can do the same thing, or buy it a harness so it doesnt choke. its like a vest thats more confy for them. Hopefully your dog stops pulling with this advice...

get a short leash and keep him by you at all times, make him sit before you cross streets and after a while he will be used to it and he will automatically do it. but remember it does take some time so don't get frustrated if it doesn't work out within a week.

Try buying a halty to use when out walking. I had this problem with my boxer, now when we go walking with his halty on the is'nt any pulling at all.
