I leave him in a crate when i'm @ work.He does not make a mess in there, although once i was stuck in traffic and when i came home he had peed in it.And also is there any Urine repelent spray or something that i can spray in my house so that he does not want to do it indoors.Anyway any advice/tips or suggestions would be helpful.

thank you,
Shan

I have a 3 year old male Lab mix. Yesterday I got a 3 month old female Chihuahua. They do not get a long at all. Should I try to find another home for her?

My husband and I have decided to leave our 10 week old in the kitchen if he has to be alone for more than a few hours. This is day #1. We've only had him for 5 days and potty training is going pretty good.
There was only one other day this week where he had to be home alone, so we crated him. I came home about 5 hours later, yes, this was too long. He had peed in his crate. We actually don't like the crate idea too much, unless he only has to go in for 2-3 hours or so. He's even been sleeping with us.

Anyway, I'm rambling. My QUESTION is: did we "set up" the kitchen correctly? I left water out for him in one area, toys & chew toys in another (actually by the baby gate that blocks him from the house) and a potty pad in another area. We put the potty pad on top of a black garbage bag-for extra protecion I guess. We also put some newspaper around it so that might help him go over there. (he used newspaper to potty in inside at his previous home) Abt 10 hrs. he'll be there

I had a puppy that died, and it didn't even turn 1 year old yet, that died from skin disease. I watched on the news 3 months after she died, and it said that people sell sick puppies, and have to be arrested for it, but my puppy died 10 months after we got her. When we went to get her, her first shots, the doctor broke two of the needles in the shots in her skin. Do you think it's the docter's fault? or the person that we bought her from, was it her fault? To me it's complicated, because she was sold for a very expensive price, and the news said they sell them at a very cheap price. And also that long to get skin disease? 10 months? And we never let her stay in the sun too long, and even if we did, she would always stay in the shades of our big trees and porch.

One on one, he is a delightful little pup -- but whenever he is outside he goes beserk. I bought him about a year ago, as a pup, off of the internet, and I think he experienced a great deal of anxiety/trauma during his plane flight. That is the only explanation I can come up with. He tries to bite people in the ankles - and I mean, he can seem very vicious. He eventually warms up to people who enter the house, but usually it's after much harrassment on his part. What can I do to prevent him from hurting someone? I think he is very smart, and I do think he can overcome this, because one on one, he is simply delightful and lovey dovey. thanks!
