We have 2 outside dogs, medium to large size, beagle/ lab mix, that we can not keep. They are about 12-15 months old, and probably weigh about 20 pounds. We have moved, and can not take them with us, but can not leave them at our previous place since we are no longer staying there either. We dont want to send them to the pound where they will be put to sleep, but after useless efforts to give them away free, we dont know what else to do. Any advice??

My puppy is 9 1/2 weeks old...And I was just woundering if anyone had any tips on house training....He does really good when we take him outside....But as soon as he gets back into the house he goes right into the kitchen to eat and drink....And it's not even seconds later that he does his business in the kitchen....We just can't figure him out, it's not like he didn't do anything when he was outside because he does all the time....Please I'll take any help I can get at this point....Thanks....

I have a boy and girl german shepard pups. I want to name them a name that scares people like the dog named demon on Snow Dogs. a name that makes someone not want to go into your yard when they hear the name !! LOL!!!

If you cannot get that 3rd feed time in (lunch) will he be ok w/ just morning and evening? He hardly eats in the morning, though... so that worries me a little. (10 week old shih tzu/german shorthair mix)

Let's see...

Say you're at the grocery store. You're looking for Campbel's Chicken Noodle soup. What you find is aisle after aisle of cans w/ NO labels. You can buy 6 different cans(spending MONEY-lol),haul them home & open each for supper.
One is pumpkin. One is beans. One is soup but it's beef. One is peaches(& you happen to like peaches). One is mackerel(& you HATE it). One IS chicken soup but NOT Campbell's & NOT w/noodles.
So,you back to the store & HOPE to find another can of peaches....HOW?

With purebred dogs from reputable/ethical/responsible breeders(Yes,we're out there)every time you go for a particular breed,that's what you'll get. Those traits you're looking for have been locked in by long hard work,centuries of hard work by dedicated people...to get that recipe right & ALWAYS coming out the same.
Did I manage to get that across?
Probably not...folks don't want their fallicies pointed out to them.

I'm getting a new puppy in July. I can't come up with names though. It's a vizsla, a copper colored short haired dog, thinner than a lab. I was thinking Tessie (dropkick murphys!), Poppy(or papi) or Penny. Any other ideas? i need them quick!

We recently adopted an 8 week old puppy from an Animal Orphanage. The women who sold it to us told us it was a Staffordshire/Australian Sheperd Cross. After a week of falling in love with it we found out that his mother was a full bred Pit Bull. Anybody have any experience with pit bulls?

My Pekingese is scheduled to have Luxating Patella Surgery on both back legs at Michigan State University Vet Hospital. Can anyone give me info on what to prepare myself for other than high bills? Recovery Time? How long before she can walk? Level of pain?
