I live with my mom and sister. We want to get a dog but we can't decide on a breed that will fit our lifestyle. We don't have that big of a house. And i have asthma so we can't get a dog that sheds a lot. My mom leaves for work at 8:30 in the morning and comes home around 8:00 on weekdays. Then my sister and i go to school from 8:20-2:49 on weekdays. Any advice?

I found a stray puppy the other night. its the calmest sweetest dog . it was covered with fleas and burrs and dirt. we washed it and cleaned it very well, and now it is ready to be in a home.

taking it to a vet seems very costly right now. are there any symptoms for heart disease?? what about heart worms or tapeworm? is there something i need to look for to detect something is wrong? the pound said that if no one claimed it within two weeks of bringing it there, he would be put down and my heart wont let me do that....

also, im having trouble finding a home for it as it is obvious that it has pit-bull in it. it is very obvious...

WHAT DO I DO????...i cant keep it b/c im allergic and our landlord wont let us do to the danger of it attacking some of the residents.

I am in Wichita Falls, Texas. If any one has info on someone who might want it in north Texas, let me know...email me..i will drive up to 3 hours away to insure this dog goes to a good home.....ALL IDEAS WELCOME..

I woke up yesterday to find that my dog (2 1/2 year old dachshund) was not feeling well. I took her to the vet yesterday afternoon and they kept her overnight to do some tests. They called me this morning to tell me she didn't make it through the night. Vet said it looked like she had been poisoned and her lungs failed. I loved her so much and I've been crying since this morning. Any way to get over the pain? She was a family pet for us and our two boys.

It should be adult sized, brown, and should have a picture of a chocolate lab on the back of it right above the phrase "Got Chocolate?"

We just brought our 6 month old Lab mix puppy home last night, and he seems a little lethargic, and depressed. He ate a little when we brought him home last night, around 7p, and a little this morning and afternoon, and he hasn't had a bowel movement yet. He has gone pee outside a few times. He seems very clingy to me, follows me around everywhere. Is this normal? I'm guessing he's probably a little skittish because I do have a very rambunctous 5 yr old son. Also I know he's adjusting to his environment. He's just so calm and sweet.

He has bald patches by his eye, and by his whiskers. Short of digging with his nose, which he doesn't do, what would cause this???

Yesterday when the garage door opened my puppy ran out and started chasing people for fun. Of course people freaked out and started running around which made it worse and he wont listen to me because he was so excited so he was chasing people and barking his head off. People thought he was agressive but he wasn't because he was wagging his tail. I have to run and make him chase me before i Got him back in the house. One person threatened to call the police and i dont want this incident to ever happen again so what is the best advice to make you puppy obey you even when he is very very excited???

Anytime I take one of my pets to the vet to have a precedure done that they need to be sedated for, my vet wants to run blood tests to see if they will be okay with the anasthesia. Is this test really neccessary?

My dog is a golden retriever almost 9mths old male. I noticed my dog licking his private area and around his balls for really a long time today (he never does that usually), so I checked if anything was wrong....and I noticed that:-
It is really reddish pink around his balls and the thigh area (on the right area) and also he is having some kind of yellow thing coming out from his D***! I really am worried and would like to know if you had seen anything like that on your dog.

I am going to take him to the VET anyways, but I got an appointment only for tomorrow evening and I really can't wait without an answer till then. I really LOVE HIM so much, and I really need responsible answers.

I live in the country. All the dogs around here run free. I believe it is mean to tie up a dog or pin him in a cage. So the answer... tie him up... won't satisfy me. But, my dog was hit by a car and lost his leg. He stopped chasing for a while but started chasing them again. He was then hit again. This time he had a gash in the side of his face but was ok. And after all of this my sweet not so smart dog continues to chase cars. We don't have many cars that travel past our home. They are mostly tractors and he leaves them alone. It's the speedy cars that he gets excited about. Please help me with a solution. Thanks!
