You could try putiting little pieces of table food in his food, not give him anything straight from the table. Then slowly wean him off of it, giving him less and less each day until he has none.

Don't feed him from the table or feed him any people food at all EVER no matter how much he whines or cry's. If he won't leave you alone then put something up to stop him coming into the room when you are eating. As he gets hungrier and you are not giving in to him asking for people food he will eventually eat his own food. It will be a battle of wills and yours has to be stronger than his. Human food is very bad for dogs so the sooner you stop this the better. Your dog won't starve to death and not eat dog food just so he can eat human food.

Stop feeding him table food. Only give him dog food. He probably won't eat it for a few days but when he's hungry & figures out your not feeding him table scraps any more he will be happy to eat his dog food. You will be keeping him more healthy by cutting out the people food. Dogs can get Pancreatis from eating too much human food.

Stop giving him table food, and try putting butter on his dog food. That is how we started getting our old dog to eat.

Don't feed him table food anymore, and just give him dog food. if that doesn't work you could try putting some table food in with his dog food so he'll eat the dog food as well, then just put less and less table food in with his dog food till he eats just dog food :)

Don't ever give him human food, for any reason. Absolutley none. Everyone in the household must adhere to this rule for the training to be effective.
Give him only his kibble/dog treats, and put food only in his bowl. He needs to learn that his bowl is the one and only place he can get food.
When you are eating, don't ever give him scraps, and ignore him completely if he tries to beg. Do not talk to him or make eye contact. If he forcefully tries to take food from you while you are eating, lock him in another room, or take yourself to another room to eat. Do not yell at him, just silently walk away and ignore him.
Keep all human food safely out of his reach, so he is not tempted to go "counter surfing" and steal it while you aren't looking.
If you follow these rules consistantly, he'll learn not to beg. This is going to take some time; undoubtedly he will try to push the limits for a while to see what he can get away with. But, this will not only make his environment more safe for him and keep him more healthy, but will make him a more pleasant and welcome member of the family. Good luck!

Stop giving him table food. Your dog will not starve himself to death. If dog food is all that is available, he'll eat it. Let him get good and hungry. Don't give in to his sad beggar face. It's hard, but if you don't want him eating from the table, which is not good for him, you need to force yourself to ignore his sweet little face looking at your juicy hamburger, and redirect him to his kibble.

That's the problem.....I did the same thing and gave my dog people food. 12 years later, she still won't look at dog food. We've tried giving it dog food....just letting it sit in it's dish for 3-4 days....no luck! She's been spoiled too long! Not healthy for the dog, I know, but hell, she's happy!

It's probably going to be difficult. You have to be firm and patient.
Mix the table food into the kibble and slowly reduce the amount of table food until only kibble remains. You might use water or chicken broth on the kibble.
No treats until the kibble is gone. You want him hungry, and he may just fill up on snacks to avoid the kibble.
Try changing brands of kibble.
