Duchess

NCSHAR (NC Siberian Husky Animal Rescue)
Concord, NC

carolinasibes@yahoo.com

Siberian Husky

Size: Large
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Notes: Duchess does not like cats (no surprise for a husky) and is particular about the dogs she like. She does like other huskies, but needs to meet them slowly, and on neutral ground.

Duchess has been with one family since she was about 2 years old. She is much loved, and having her leave is a very hard thing for her human mom, but human mom says she is so busy raising two human children right now that Dutchess is not getting the exercise and time she needs. With a sad heart, she has made the decision to let her find a new family to love

For more information, please contact Amy (human mom) at ajiwilkie@bellsouth.net .

If you are looking for a wonderful Siberian please consider Dutchess - she is past the puppy chewing phase :O) but as Huskies live for 14 to 16 years, has MANY wonderful years of LOVE to give!

This pet is up to date with routine shots.

PS U can see a picture of Duchess on www.petfinder.com
do a pet search, which is at the top of the screen, and make sure u type in her name.

Please ask yourself WHY you are looking to breed your male.
With millions of animals dying in the shelters every year, it is irresponsible to continue breeding 'just because'. As a husky rescuer, I can tell you that some of those dogs dying in the shelters are absolutely breathtaking huskies, some with papers who's only offense was being a husky and being homeless.
You are dealing in lives and those lives bring other lives into the world. Spay your male. You obviously aren't a professional breeder, or you wouldn't be in Yahoo Answers looking for ANY ***** to mate with.

If you are looking to be a responsible breeder, then you should be prepared to a)have your male certified against any hip/eye problems, b) find a female who's got a better temperment than your dog and who's physical attributes are going to improve the breed, c)be prepared to spay/neuter any pups you adopt out to the general public, d)take back any pups/dogs for rehoming for the life of the dog if ever necessary.

And for the person who advertised a RESCUE dog for this guy;no true rescue will adopt out a unaltered animal.

A husky in NC? The shedding! The heat! I bet the dog lives in your A/C!

I have a sweet husky mix, not big on all the AKC pure stuff, and she sheds SO bad. She lives in the A/C and sleeps on the bed. I'm also in NC, but Southern and Coastal!

Good luck with breeding though! Huskies are gorgeous.

You shouldn't breed them. There are thousands of puppies each year that get sent into a shelter and end up euthanized because they couldn't go into a home. If you really are going to sell the puppies then please make sure they go to good homes. if you are looking for a female, try looking on the Internet. Type in pure breed husky female in north Carolina. good luck.

Owners of males usually do not go looking for females. If your male is really nice they will come looking for you. There are many good CH studs to choose from.

You could possibly lease a girl from a breeder, but will need to know alot and show yourself to be trustworthy before that would happen.

There is alot more to a good dog than markings, markings are something I do not even take into consideration when looking for a male. If he is nice, is he a finished CH? If he is, special him, if not, get him in the ring.

if you really feel the need to have eight or so dogs, then i'm sure you could adopt plenty of them from your local siberian husky rescue group. check petfinder.com and see how many of those beauties are unwanted and then decide if you want to be part of the problem.

BE CAREFUL! If you find one, make sure she is tested for VDs that your beauty could contract! You may want to just purchase a female instead of advertising for one, that way you know how she and the puppies are cared for.

Good Luck!
