go to health food store and buy Organix Thera Neem pet shampoo. keep bathing in that, flees don't like it. brush puppy and look for flees and drown them in hot water. also sprinkle Borax soap on carpet let sit then vaccum it up. that is what i do. supposed to kill flees.

Bathing him right away was a great start. Next, you'll want to see a vet about Front Line, and perhaps a flea dip.

If you're keeping him indoors, vacuum a lot so you can get the fleas and their eggs up. There is a powder put out by Arm And Hammer that's great for killing fleas and things in the carpet.

There are a number of herbs and plants that fleas don't like. Consider adding those to your landscaping. And feed the puppy garlic and brewer's yeast.

i know in cats ther is a shot you can get from your vet it is called program it lasts 6 months and cost me about 40 dollars

there is also oral liquod and a pill for dogs that last for 1 month
i have not asked about a shot for dogs i do get the shot for the 2 cats i have because it is cheaper that the monthly form and i only have to remember once every 6 months

how program works is that it keeps the eggs from hatching no hatching eggs no fleas it is not an overnight fix but if kept up you should have no more big flea problems you will still get the ocasional flea but it cannot reproduce

also the is a pill called capstar the kills all the adult fleas but it only lasts 24 hours if used with program it really takes a toll on fleas

On a puppy that young, you can use advantage. After 12 weeks of age, you can switch to frontline if your not getting enough coverage. Advantage kills the fleas & their larvae. Frontline kills the fleas, their larvae, their eggs & ticks. The tick medicine is why you wait till the pup's are older. With the advantage you can also bump the dose up to the next wt category early & apply every 3wks, if your bathing once a week ,do it every 2 wks.

I read a tip some time ago on the net about adding a little of Dawn dish soap to your dogs regular shampoo when you bathe him. It works for my yorkie but I do not use too much as it can be irritating if you use too much or too often. It kills the fleas and and it is a detterent to attract more of them.

Advantage is wonderful. It works longer than advertised. If you keep your pet clean, you shouldn't have to use it but every other month. Also, spray or use sevin on your lawn every 5-6 wks. during flea season. Ask the vet which lawn products are safe for the pup.

I agree- Frontline is the best for fleas on an animal. Unfortunately, the only sure-fire way I've found to get them out of the house is to bomb it.

if the puppy is young, be careful.....look up natural flea spray on the internet....(50/50 water and vinegar I think) and spray him with it. It stinks for a while, but it will not harm a young puppy.

Get your yard and house sprayed every three months to take care of a potential problem.

Flea bomb your house (3 times) do it once..wait a week...do it again, wait a day and do it a 3rd time.
Also, put a flea repellent on the back of his neck (near the base of the skull)

Advantix has always worked for me. After 12 hours, the fleas are gone and it also kills them in the carpet. If you can't get any Advantix, you can bathe him in warm water with regular blue Dawn dish soap. That will also kill them.
