Basically, put em' in the yard together & let nature take it's course. Make sure your female is in heat- bleeding- so he's interested. A lot of males though, won't breed, they're not interested or just can't seem to get the right spot. You may just end up having to go to your vet for artificial insemination. I would definanlty give it 2 heat cycles before I did that though.

As far as I know, Bulldogs do not mate naturally. They have been so molded and warped by human beings to fit their purpose that they aren't capable of it.
This is one of the reasons (I hear) that Bulldog puppies are so expensive -- you spend a lot of money at the vet clinic just to breed and whelp a litter, since in addition to being A.I.d, the b*tch has to be C-sectioned, as well. They simply aren't natural breeders, period.
I've met many Bulldog breeders over the years due to my involvement in dog shows, and I've never heard of one who bred a litter naturally.

Henburyhouse has a good method for this. Often, they are inseminated artificially because of their difficulty in doing things naturally. You may have to "help them along".
Courtney and MJ are quite right, both of them. I was simply trying to answer the question without going into all of that, but they're right... My conscience finally got me. So, here goes...
Not only are English Bulldogs difficult to breed, but during pregnancy, your dog could begin to have complications. Research "water puppies". Water puppies happen when the puppies retain so much fluid that they blow up like little balloons. Many of them cannot be saved. To avoid this, there has been a diet introduced that includes feeding the dog NO SALT. To do this, you must cook for the dog yourself. Dog food has salt in it for flavor. Cook her chicken, good cuts of beef, carrots, fruits, pasta (no wheat), and everything else she will need for proper nutrition. I have seen people have very good luck with this diet, and will be trying myself with my next litter.
Then, she needs a C-section. Do NOT try to let her have them naturally. Complications can arise during the C-section, and there is a chance that you will lose the female.
Take her home, and it's a really good idea not to leave the puppies in with their mother. She is likely to crush them. Put them in a tub with a heating pad and keep them very warm. Also a good idea to have an oxygen tank handy in case of respiratory distress in the puppies. Then, you use the tub as an oxygen tank. Every two hours, get up, lay the female down, and attach the puppies to feed. Let her sniff them and care for them, but make her stay there. Then, put the puppies back. Do this for the first 4 weeks or so of their lives, depending on the strength of the puppies. That's right. No sleep. Then, you can cut back a bit. By now, chances are that you've lost another puppy or two to complications, by the way. Watch for "swimmers". These are puppies that can't stand up. They can't get their legs under them and need to be kept on a rough surface so they can strengthen their legs. Also, you can put them between two objects to help brace their legs under them, or do it with your own hands every time they get up to eat. Now, put the puppies in a pen with a good heat lamp in one corner, and a good place to cool off in the other. Check their breathing and their temps often! These are very delicate life-forms.
When weaning, soften their food. Bulldogs can choke easily, and more than one weaning puppy has died from choking on a hard piece of food...
Never promise puppies to people until the puppies are of age. You never know how many you will be left with when all of the fatalities pass...
Then, sign on for years of expensive vet bills, and if you're responsible about it, you'll tell the new puppy's owners the same thing. Good luck to you!

Some breeds of bulldogs will not ever mate naturally they have to be done by artificial insemenation and the puppies must be deliverd by c-section as their heads will not pass thru the birth canal they are to big.
Bull dog breeding is a very expensinve and time consuming adventure. You also have to have a lot of knwoledge to do it successfully.

if it's an English Bulldog it's very hard for them to mate naturally. They're top heavy and can't get up there easily..they usually need to be artificially inseminated.I wouldn't reccomend breeding bulldogs unless you are an experienced breeder..there can be a lot of complications with the pregnancy and birth and it can get very costly.

If you do not know the basics of breeding, don't do it until you learn more.
I don't think Bulldogs are bred naturally, you will maybe have to have an AI done. They also are not natural whelpers and she will need a c-section.

From what I am told it takes 3 people to help this along - 1 to hold the female, one to hold the dog in place and one to guide him in. We never got a chance to try this with our bulldog.

wait til the bit*h is in season, it should ome naturally, but he just may not be interested. Alot can depend on their age. If they are under two then this sort of instinct may not have kicked in properly yet. Wait til he takes an interest and then try to encourage him, especially if you've told him off before for taking an interest.

Put them in a room, some soft music (Barry White), a little wine, some candles!!
Jeesh!!! Animals will breed when they are ready. Your b*tch (female dog) will come into heat. The male will know its time....
