Generally the most dangerous breeds are the ones you hear about - pits, rotties, german shepherds, wolf-hybrids, ext. A study done in 1994 showed that 73% of fatal dog bits were attributable to six breeds. This doesn't mean that they are the 'meanest' breeds or the most likely to bite, it means that when they do bite they cause massive amounts of damage. All dogs need to be properly socialized and supervised. Even small breeds like chihuahuas have been known to maul children, they just have to work harder to do it. And most dog bites are not inflicted by the "dangerous" breeds but by the breeds most commonly found in homes (cocker spaniels, poodles, chows, labs, golden retrievers) - the vast majority of people bit by dogs every year are bit by their pet or the pet of family/friends.

It is not the dog that is dangerous it is the owner who has not taken the time to train the dog properly. There is no one breed that is worse than another.
the most dangerous dog is a fear biter.
If I am correct the last time I checked the most biting dog was the cocker spaniel. This was a statistical study that was done.
I cant emphasize enough that it is not the breed of the dog but the owner, and how the dog is raised and trained, or not trained might be the more accurate answer.

PEOPLE SEEM TO CATEGORIZE CERTAIN BREEDS IN A "MOST DANGEROUS" CATEGORY. THROUGH MY EXPERIENCE IT IS ALL IN THE WAY YOU RAISE THEM. ANY DOG CAN BE DANGEROUS. WE HAVE A ROTTIE AND MY TWO BOYS (4 &8) JUMP& HANG ON HIM, WRESTLE W/ HIM, EVEN WHEN HE IS EATING AND CHEWING A BONE AND IT DOESN'T BOTHER HIM A BIT. THIS IS OUR SECOND ROTTIE. WE LOVE THEM. THEY ARE LOYAL AND TRUE. NOW ANS A NOTE, PIT BULLS ARE USUALLY DOG AGRESSIVE NOT PEOPLE AGGRESSIVE. BACK TO THE THING ON HOW THEY ARE RAISED....... IF YOU TRAIN ANY DOG TO BE MEAN OR NOT BE FRIENDLY W/ PEOPLE YOU HAVE TO WORRY. REMEMBER, THE BIGGER THEY ARE, THE STRONGER THEY ARE. A MEAN LITTLE CHAWHAWHA YOU CAN "BRUSH" OFF. YOU HAVE TO SOCIALIZE THEM W/ PEOPLE AND OTHER DOGS/PETS. MY DOG KNOWS WHO TO TRUST AND WHO NOT TO. HE BARKED VICIOUSLY AT MY BROTHER-IN-LWA'S FRIEND. WE FOUND LATER SHE HAD DRUGED HIM. HE LOVES EVERYONE, BUT FOR SOME REASON HE WASN'T FAUND OF HER. HE FOR SOME REASON BARKS THE SAME WAY AT PIT BULLS. BUT LOVES ALL OTHER DOGS & PETS. YOU GOT TO TRUST THEIR INSCINCTS. NO DOG IS DANGEROUS UNLESS YOU RAISE THEM TO BE!

A bite from any dog is always dangerous. They don't brush their teeths, so their teeth couldn't be full of bacteria and virus.

abrakadabra is rite. people say pit bulls are all mean, but i know differently. domesticated animals become "mean" because of acts so inhuman that only homo sapiens could peform them. dogs are only as mean as the people who own them, from poodles to rottweilers. they can be as nice or as mean as u want them to be.
