Definitely NOT! For the same reasons I gave you about Dobermans, only MORE so. They are high-energy hunting dogs that need a TON of exercise and are also prone to separation anxiety and running away to look for birds.

If you want a large dog that is short haired and a good house pet, I'd research great danes...they can also be trained to help the child in the future...we have a 4 month old and he is great with my husbands 1 1/2 yr old neice. They are not real high energy dogs, and don't need a lot of exercise. RESEARCH is your best bet!

Probably not as they are really high energy dogs and hunting dogs to boot. It might be a better idea to look in to getting a golden retriever with therapy breeding. Either way it is necessary to have the dog WELL trained regardless of what type of dog you get. You can have the best bred dog in the world and it will be terribly miss behaved if it is not trained. If you are interested in a good golden breeder we purchased ours from a breeder in NC and I would be happy to share that information with you should you be interested. Of note: Goldens tend to stay puppy like most of their lives and are wonderfully friendly dogs if they have good breeding. Hope this helps.

They could be but Weims are very high activity dogs and need to be run every day. A walk just does not do it for them.
I have two and have had them for 10 years. My 9 nine year old is still very active and goes out and runs at least twice per day. I have 7 acres for them to run in.
They also run with us when we ride our horses. Both dogs hunt and are worked in the field about 3-4 times per week.
They are great dogs but need lots of exercise and like to be with their people all the time. Many of them have seperation anxiety.

If your asking, I would say no, Weimaraner is a high strung breed and they tnd to get seperation anxiety. I wouls look for a smaller breed, like a little fur ball type dog or maybe even a beagel or doxon.

it deoends on the indivial dog but there are better choices in breed.check out labs or boxers.both are GREAT with all kids and good family dogs.labs are not as high enegry as boxers but with good training a boxer is a super house dog.i have had them for over 20 years and around all kinds of people and never had a problem

From what I hear they are not very good with children. Try a more laid back breed or one that was bred for herding, they are usually very good with kids.

no, wiemerainers are very large dogs that can be harmful, especially to young children, even older teenagers. labs and retrievers are very good for that stuff.
