Sure he is . When we notice dogs dreaming, they are whining a bit and their apws are going like they are chasing something. I always wonder if they catch it in the end. Hope so.

Yes, it is scientifically shown, that nearly all living beings dream. Dreaming is the brain's way to deal with the situations you had to face during the day. So, during your dreams, you are reliving your day.
In your dreams, you also express wishes and fears. Probably you know the dream when you are running, and somebody is right behind you, and you can't escape. It expresses fear. You have to go through the dream, until you see who your follower is, and until you know how to face him.
It's the same thing for your dog.
PS: Did you know, that you actually dream every time you sleep ( without being awakened, of course) just before waking up? Just very often, you don't remember you're dreams.
And, did you know, that you wake up several times every night? You're sleep works in sessions, after every session you wake up, but most of the time, you fall asleep again, without even seeing it.

Absolutely, my dog's legs move like he is running and he starts barking...all the while sound asleep. Sometimes he just stares off into space and I know he is daydreaming. I always wonder what new born puppies are dreaming of. They haven't seen much of life yet. Course, that goes for new born babies as well.

Of course! My dogs dream all the time. They are obviously running in their dreams and barking.... I imagine that they are dreaming of chasing squirrels because that is their favorite thing to do each morning when they go outside.

Whenever my Shih Tzu puppy plays with Dyno which is a very large dog that evening he always has dreams. He'll start growling and sometimes will let out a bark...it's sooo cute!

Yes, I think they do have little doggie dreams. My Molly (almost 6 month old Golden Retriever), sometimes even has a slight grin on her face and her feet move like she's running. But she has woken herself up before and just looked terrified-like she had a little doggie nightmare. Regardless, she's really funny to watch when she sleeps.

Any dog has the ability to have a dream while they sleep. My dogs do, they jerk around and move their paws like they're running.
Most certainly =)
