I live in a little apartment complex, I really want a cat but I don't want her to stay cooped up in the house. It would be nice to have her come in and out as she pleases. Any ideas?

our kitten is a feral cat who was domesticated and then adopted by my family. he now has the urge to go back outdoors and likes to try to get out the door when we put the dogs out. we want him to be a indoor cat as this is safer and better for his health. we need tips on how to train him to stay away from the doors so he won't try to go out them. can anyone help?

this is weird, my two male cats must be nearly one now. they haven't had the op yet... don't worry i will be done soon.
however..you wouldnt know..they live together so you'd expect spraying, hissing fighting, territorial battles ect.
but they dont seem to do any of this...they play fight once a day. never hurt each other though its always really PLAY fighting. neither of the them has ever peed anywhere but their litter tray. And they DONT spray anywhere, believe me i know that smell and they just don't do it. they seem quite at ease with their sexuality...apart from mounting each other occasionally...they seem fine.

I'm getting them fixed just incase they ever get out but this is the only reason.. Whats going on with them?

why is this,

Yes, for those of you with the grossed out faces, dogs should have their anal glands drained. Anyways, I noticed my cat was scooting on the floor the other day like a dog with an itchy butt; which was quite amusing. Should it be ignored, should we take him in to get checked for something, or does his butt need to get drained???

My cat Friskey just got his vet appt to get neutered on Thursday. I am very, very nervous. I know it's for the best to get him fixed, but what are some pros and cons to get fixed? Apart from the obvious reason of not being able to impregnate any females?

His sister, Lily, is going to get an appointment about two weeks after his is (depending on how my money is at the time). What are pros and cons to getting her fixed? Apart from the obvious no babies?

I am just so worried about my babies dying or something while getting fixed. Please no negativity, I am just very nervous.

I have a 14 year old male tiger cat. No history of any illnesses, always acts normal (as a cat would). I have not changed his food (dry or wet), the type of litter used or any other thing I can think of. A couple months ago he had fleas and I gave him a bath (using the same shampoo used since I got him, and have used it several times throughout his life).

The problem is, he is now pooping and puking all over the house. He has chewed most of his fur off also, hence the puking. He does not have any fleas at this point either. Never poops in the same place either.

What is really driving me crazy is the constant wanting to be fed and the howling/meowing at all hours, when you walk in the room, when someone new walks in the room.

I find him staring off at nothing (like the wall) and it takes him a few seconds to snap out of it.

I am not a vet either, but I think he may have had a stroke. Is that possible? He is old I will admit, is it his time to go peacefully? I am sad.

I collect her in a week's time (from a reputible rehoming home), but I'm a little worried about her already. She really is a darling when I saw her at the home and the nurse did tell me that she has a heart murmur (grade 1), but she's ok and doesn't need any medication for it. The nurse said she probably got it through having a litter at a young age and it put a strain on her heart. What do you think?

I stopped using Whiskas as its junk food for cats. Iams because of its PETA blacklisted status. Started using Nature's Best which had a dramatic change in behaviour with the sulky one (George) and less/no fur shedding with both George and Snaffle. However George has started throwing up perfectly digested cat food! He's healthy otherwise. Would appreciate tips.

I have a very friendly stray cat that has been roaming around outside for the past few months. Now that its getting cold, and I can't bring her inside, I made her a shelter out of a box and blanket, and put it in an area out of the wind about 10 feet from my front stoop. The problem is she still likes my stoop and climbing on my screen door at 3 AM. How can I get her to use the shelter?

Hi, my husband accidently used the sergants flea medicine instead of the advantage so the fleas on our cats are still there. They also have a lot of flea larva. Is there anything i can put on them now to help get rid of the fleas, even thought I just used flea medicine a few days ago. I've heard using it twice is dangerous if you dont wait a month!

I have another cat, and I'm keeping them separated so my older cat doesn't get fleas. I gave them both an application of Advantage earlier today. The new persian is in the bathroom, and there's no carpets or anything in there, except for a towel for him. What should I use to clean the bathroom while he's in there, and get rid of the fleas?

The problem is I am away for a long day often 15 hours. I have a few cats that I leave (easy to digest) dry food out all of the time. The problem is she eats it and piles of it are all around my house.

The cats get wet food at night, and she only keeps certain kinds down (so I stick with those).

I've been to the vet and he said she only has 3 teeth left in her mouth and this is what is causing all the problems.

I feel it would be cruel to not give the other cats access to the dry food during the day.
Would grinding the dry food work?

Any suggestions would be appreciated

My cat has fleas. I used the little tube you put on the back of the neck, 6 weeks later I repeated, that was 2 weeks ago,he still had them. My 2 yr old and my husbabd are being bitten by them constantly. On the weekend I washed my cat in flea killing solution, put flea killing powder and a flea collar on him. Yesterday I set 4 flea bombs off, vacumed, emptyed my vacume after use, then sprayed another flea and egg stopper manualy into the carpet. I plan to vaqcume every day for the next 2 weeks , I cant flea spray his bed becauase he sleeps on the roof of the house. My question is, Am I missing anything, Is there anything else I need to to to get rid of theese things from my cat and house?

I know this is probably going to be a "take her to the vet" type thing but I want to check with you lovely folks first.
I just brought my kitten home Friday from the breeder and she has a runny nose, she sneezes and she has lots of eye goobers. Now I knew she had a runny nose before because the breeder told me and said he took her to the vet (he wouldn't let me pick her up until she was better). He told me the vet suggested saline spray and said it was getting better, so I could pick her up.
Well when she meows it sounds strange (she is a Bengal kitten) and she sneezes a lot. Do I need to take her back to the vet and get another opinion? Or is it just something she will get over?
Also, she scratches a lot, fleas?
