I have had two cats over the years. My first was born on my Wedding Day of 22nd September 1979 and I picked it up a few weeks later. When I went to the house of the guy who was selling them there was a box with half a dozen kittens in it. One jumped up immediately and was so alert I chose it. The owner, a Mr Williams, told me it was a male and i immediately named it Lennon after my great hero, John Lennon. When I took him to the vet's to be 'doctored' he told me that 'he' was a 'she' and said that I had better change the name to something more appropriate. "No" I said "Lennon it was and Lennon it is. Remember there have been Mrs Lennons as well." So the name stayed and what a wonderful cat she was. Sadly she died aged thirteen. I was devastated, as were the children and family. She was one of my best friends. She is now buried in the back garden. I vowed never to replace her but a couple of years ago my daughter bought me another one, a black male. He was already named 'Del-Boy' after the character in the TV sitcom 'Only Fools and Horses'. As it happens that's my favourite comedy so Del he stayed. Although he cannot replace Lennon he's a great cat too.
So, names. Well, why not do as I did and think of your favourite actor or singer. Imagine a cat named Jolie, Kylie, or something similar. If she's elegant try Angelina. Ultimately it's a matter of personal choice so whatever you choose make sure it suits both of you.

I like Phantom. Thats a good name for it, even if it is a girl. You could just cut to the chase and name it "No!" or "Bad Cat!" I personally like to give my animals people names....like Steve. I had a cat named "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle" when I was 5, we called he "Ninja." You know a pretty name for an animal, and one that I think would be the best for it is "Heroine" its the main character in a play. You know a female hero. I had a cockatiel named that once. My mom almost died when I said I wanted to name her that. It was really funny. I think that would be best for it.

Macavity, Deuteronomy- any of the names from the Broadway show CATS. You said she looks theatrical, so that would be perfect!
