he was licking it and so we put a colar on him and he has worn it for on and off for a week and a half. I think he is still getting to it, he does not seem to be in any pain but it looks like a red pea not swollen, but flat, not really bleeding but red should I take him back to the vet?

whenever i talk to the cat she meows back, she rarely answers if anyone else talks to her, she also has different meows, it is very funny but i just wondered how she knows i am speaking to her and not to my partner. she also joins in conversations between me and my partner its as if she knows what we are saying

he tries and tries. and he's getting the hang of it i think just from watching me enough. but he's almost got it. i don't want him to be able to and shoo him from the door when he tries...but, will he learn to open it some day? (if i were to let it go and let him do it...which i don't (often))?

My cat acts like a bully to my dog. My dog is 8 or 9, blind, and has seizures. Whenever my cat sees her, she hisses at her, and when she gets close enough, she hits her on the head with her paw. My cat is declawed, so she doesn't scratch, but you can hear her paw hitting the dog from other rooms, so it has to hurt (my cat weighs about 20 or 25 lbs.). Also, when my dog tries to come down the hallway or get to the dogdoor, my cat won't let her through. When she get's out the dogdoor, my cat won't let her back in. My dog is afraid to go outside, so she goes to the bathroom on the floor all the time. Is there anything I can do to stop my cat from bullying my much smaller dog?

How do I teach my 2 9 week old kittens to stop biting me? It isn't like a vicious or angry thing, they just bite my hand sometimes when they are excited or laying down on me. I have had them for about a week, and they just started biting today. What should i do when they bite me? I don't want them to develop biting habits as cats... I have heard that it works to leave the room as soon as they start, and that would work sometimes for me, however i sleep with them and i don't really want to leave my bedroom just because they are biting me. Does this really work, and are there any other ways to stop them?

I have 2 nine week old kittens and they occasionally will scratch on our sofa or bed. We bought them a scratching post, and they will use it but only sometimes. How do we encourage them to use the scratching post and NOT scratch on the couch? I don't want them to develop that habit and i thought now would be a good time to stop it.

I'm feeding 6 outside feral cats (Well, they used to be feral.) The winter here in the northeast U.S. seems hard on them. Does anyone know of enclosures with some sort of warming thingee? I'm thinking of something like a dog-house with a solar panel, or some heating device that's not dangerous, or even a small shed. Any other suggestions are welcome. (No, I'm not a "cat person," but it's not right to let them suffer because some idiot threw them out.)

My cat is a male, about 7/8 years old and the vet says he's healthy (but a little chubby). He is sick at least 3 times a week, just after he has eaten. He has Iams dried food. We've tried raising his bowl so he eats slower and even given smaller portions more often but no luck yet...... any ideas?

We have 3 cats, 2 are about a year old, and one is only 13 weeks old. They are adopted from a shelter and did not have fleas when we adopted them. They are ONLY inside cats. We got boxes of Christmas stuff from a family who had stored the boxes in the garage. As fast as we put up the (faked) Christmas tree etc., we had fleas in the whole apartment! The fleas are everywhere; I now sleep on the leather couch in the living room where it is a little better. We seem to have tried EVERYTHING but nothing seems to help. They have bitten me around my ankles and on my feet so I am totally destroyed and it itches as H---. What can we do (and not harm our cats or our selves)? The itch will soon make me crazy and it is also burning like fire. We live in southeast Florida. Please give me some advice what to do! Excuse my English, I am from another country

i've tried everything i possibly can. i've finally resorted to using piddle pads infront of and around the litter boxes. and i've got him atleast using those. and i've tried a plethra of kitty litters. and just recently i started using the crystal kind (of litter)..that's what my vet told me to use and that didn't seem too work all that well...
so i thought i would ask experienced cat owners...
any suggestions?!? please help

Should I just clean out the empty box with soap and water? Could I put it in the bathtub? What about Lysol? I think I read somewhere that spraying Lysol on your cats' litter box was a bad idea. Any advice? Thanks.

The last couple of days my cat who is about 9months old has started limping!
Plus also his nose which is usual black has lost all its colour and has gone bright red and lucks likes its weeping and maybe also bleed sometimes. He also has red dark patches in side his mouth!
He is also sleeping a little more then usual, and refuses to go out side which is unusual as he loves the outside and he keeps crying at me, he also has cut down on his eating and that is very unusal as he loves his food.
I'm really worried about him i am takeing him straight up the vets on monday but does any know what could be wrong with him?!

Could he of ate something posions? or smelt it? or has he just got the flu?

Please help!!!

I have three places for him to scratch, two cat poles and one kitty condo. Although I've taken him there and pawed his paws on them he doesn't get the idea. Even tried Catnip, which is not interesting to him. He's six years old, and has used cat poles in the past, but since moving here he won't use them.

Any advice?

I have two cats that were born in the summer. Their very acustomed to the outdoors because that wheare they were born. But now that its getting colder Im scared. I have a dog and I've had her for 7 years so I cant kick her out because thats my baby! lol anyway so I cant bring the cats in to roam because my mom thinks it will scratch up the furniture and also because of my dog. My dad tried putting them in a cage but the cats flipped out so thats not a option. So we have this wicker chair on my porch and we added a heavier blanket to it but still Im afraid, they'll freeze. What can I do?!
