Drooling is not normal for a cat. Some kittens will drool when they are teething or weaning off of Mom, but in a 1.5 old cat; not normal. I would say that there is some type of dental problem. Has it always drooled? You should definitely have her teeth checked. Many times, this is gum abcesses, maybe even a tooth that needs pulling. Tooth extraction is not that big of a deal in cats, but many vets recommed that you have annual dentals done on your animal. Smell of the cat's breath. If there is any odor at all, maybe more serious that you think. My 1 old cat was doing it a little and his breath was starting to smell. We went to the vet and he had a swollen gum. They will generlly give you some liquid, oral antibiotic for about 5-7 days. Not that uncommon for a cat to get gum swelling, tooth problem. Their mouths are pretty nasty out of all other animals. Not "clean" like the dog mouth. I don't think this is an emergency, but you should at least let a vet look at her teeth.

Drooling a little is normal. When cats get to a point where they are soo happy, they forget to swallow. when this happens just gently rub the side of the mouth, which should get your cat to swallow. if the drooling doesn't stop then i would take the cat to the vet. it could be something going on that you don't know about.
