I used to have this cat at my grandmas house i only vistied her once a week and evertime i went outside my yellow cat will be at my feet he constaly follows me and i give the cat all the attention in the world how would i get him to stop followin me

My cat does that to me and I see her everyday, it's because she loves you and wants to make sure that no one else can "claim" you.

RUN!!! No I'm just kidding!! you might smell like the other cat and your cat might think that some "other cat" is trying to steal what he thinks he is his property. try this when you go see your cat you should just stand still for a minute or two and let him rub against your legs. If that doesn't work you might just have a jealous cat! GOOD LUCK!!!

Apparently, cats cannot differentiate between different humans (they don't recognize us). However, your cat most likely associates human beings with food, comfort, or other pleasant feelings. Cats, like every other living creature, are selfish and want more pleasantness with less effort on their own part. Following you (often) assures more food/attention for them.
