You'd think a gentle brushing with a soft-bristled rubber brush, and quick but careful trimming of the claws, was torture. Mrraooww!!

Should I try and explain how much better off we'll both be if she's groomed, and how proper young cats do not want razors on their paws and loose fur all over themselves, etc, and force it a bit (while talking nicely and offering treats), or do I just resign myself to one claw and one brushstroke a day?

(Miss Mrraooww is about eight months old, if that makes any difference.)

I have renamed her twice. she is short hair white with lots of dark grey. I lost my beloved boy Gentry eariler this year. I I wanted to name G.I.L.Y.A.M. for- Gentry, I Love You Always Mommy- but it hurt too bad. best name gets ten points. must be unique. no fluffy or socks or things of that nature. thank you...

today when i woke up the female cat was acting weird so i checked online && realized that she is in heat. she keeps sticking up her tail && waging her butt to the boy kitty. i noticed that the boy kitty got on top of her && was bitting her neck but he couldn't reach her butt, he only got to her back.

comes home all dusty with dirt, like it rolled in it. I bought it a waterless powder shampoo for pets and I do use that once a week. How often is it ok to wash the cat with water and pet soap?
Pepper will than you!

My neutured male cat chooses to live in a neighbors dirt floor garage when he could live in a nice house with me. Last week he got caught in a wild animal trap and was taken to a animal shelter. I went to get him and he was traumatized of course and now has watering eyes and running nose. I have been keeping him inside but today he escaped when I opened the door. I found him in the neighbors garage where he had gotten caught in the trap before. I can't understand what his problem is. Does he hate me? Why would he go back to a place where he had such a bad experience?

If it even bothers them I'm not sure. But my kitten makes us rub his face along his jaw line and sometimes even rubs so we are rubbing his actual gums inside his mouth. He even gnaws sometimes. The vet said last week his big side teeth were coming in at that point and that his front teeth are pretty much all adult ones now. Anyone know?

i just got a new male kitten to accompany my 1 year old female cat. she has been hissing and growling at him. he's been locked up for a few days. their relationship seems to be improving like she is interested in playing with him. i would like to leave them out tomorrow while i'm at work. what's the worst that could happen. what are the chances she would really hurt him? has anyone ever had a situation where a kitten really got hurt?

I am eight months preg, and whilst hubby has done most of the litter changes and poop scooping, I have had to do it while he is away, and when Layla gets a bit of poo on her bum, I have to clean her, because otherwise she spreads it round (she has very furry bottom, and sometimes it just gets poopy!!)I always wear gloves and wash my hands, and when we had a bad day and she had a runny tum, and I had to wash her, I bathed afterwards just in case!
I always wash my hands before food prep and stuff.

She is strictly indoors, although we will prob let her out next summer. I was thinking about letting her out recently but two local cats have been killed by badgers here, and I am not keen!
She has been out with me approx 3x on her lead, and has not been in any soil or anything that could have cat poop in it, and once with hubby where she followed him thru the grass and then went back indoors.
Should I be worrying about toxoplasmosis?

I have a cat that is barely a year old. She has a black spot on her gums. Is this usual? She had no pain because of that. What should I do?

There's 4 strays in my vicinity and I've already called out to shelters and societies, but they're all full and these cats are REAL sick and very thin (one of the kittens has already died in front of my neighbors house). I feed them table scraps when I can but I can't help to think I may be prolonging their death- and its so cold out side! What do you guys think?

PS- I definetly don't have the money to take them to the vet for shots and bring them into my house! I already have 2 of my own!

I'm soon to be getting a male kitten, and Ive gotten mixed opinions from people about de-clawing him. My female cat ( 4 years old ) is de-clawed and she acts like she never knew she had claws, but others have told me that cats miss them and get depressed. I had intended to get him declawed when i got him fixed. Whats your opinion?

We had a litter of approx 6 month old kittens dropped off on our farm. They are in a shed with big hay bales and they hide. We have been feeding them and giving them water, but we can catch only one of them. We have found a home for one of the others, but I have only been able to catch him once and only when he wasn't looking. If we can't find homes for them, they have to go to the humane society, but they say they won't come out to the country to catch them. Please help!!

My cat is seven months and he continues to poop on the floor. The locations are close to his litter box. I started to remove his bathroom activities every other day - that didn't work, because he pooped on the floor again. I got the "updated" version the Litter Maid - it cleans the box 10 mins after the cat uses the bathroom. Still does not work, he pooped right outside the litter box this morning and he apparently just got out the litter box.

Please help

my kitten just came home friday from being declawed, ever since he's been sneezing very badly and has one runny eye. He's not stuffed up or congested...would the stress of surgery cause a cold...or could it just be allergies?
