Thanks for all the answers I have received. When they gave him Baytril and Feldene the bleeding stopped for a short while but came back. He had a very good month before I lost him. He was 14.5 years old and we had him from 3 weeks old. He was a white beautfiul persian with gorgeous Baby blue eyes. We miss him very much. I suppose the tumor hade him lose alot of blood. He did not have a good day prior to his passing. I had gone to get the refills on his meds from the vet and he passed while I was gone as if he did not want me to see him. Once again thanks to all . We just lost another pet 13 year old lab in August. Thank God the year is almost over. I am drained. Anne

Every medication is supposed to have this imprint by law. It is an identifying mark that is uniques to that specific medication. The medication you are referring to, BMP 208, is the identifier for Amoxicillin 150mg. It is a common pennicillin-derived antibiotic often used in animals and people alike.
Amoxicillin unfortunately would not have delayed the inevetable fate of your pet. A bleeding tumor is bad news for any animal and your vet, knowing this, was more than likely just trying to prolong you pet's life, although the extent of prolongation in this case would have been negligible.

I am so sorry your cat died so suddenly. I have a cat who had surgery to remove a bladder tumor in May.

The numbers on pills are, I think, the way pharmacists distinguish one from another and are not meant to transmit significant information to the general public. If you have two white pills you would be able to discern they are not the same medication.

You should determine what the pills are by asking your vet. Why would you want to use them on your dog? A lot of medications are tested on dogs first and some, like Metacam are prescribed for cats with bladder tumors though they have not necessarily been found safe for use in cats.

Generally, a lot of medications are OK for dogs and should not be used on cats who have entirely different responses to medications than dogs.

In checking on the internet I've found that BMP 208 is 150 mg amoxicillin for vet use. It's an identification number.

I'm sorry for your loss...

BMP 208 is Amoxicillin for dogs and cats.

It would not have helped your cat. It is an anti-biotic. It is from the penicillan family.

I would have a LONG talk with your vet.
