My neutured male cat chooses to live in a neighbors dirt floor garage when he could live in a nice house with me. Last week he got caught in a wild animal trap and was taken to a animal shelter. I went to get him and he was traumatized of course and now has watering eyes and running nose. I have been keeping him inside but today he escaped when I opened the door. I found him in the neighbors garage where he had gotten caught in the trap before. I can't understand what his problem is. Does he hate me? Why would he go back to a place where he had such a bad experience?

They are natural hunters. He wants to go out and prowl. How old was he when he was neutered? Sometimes people wait too long to neuter a male. The testosterone kicks in and they are still want to wander. As he gets older he will probably settle down. My last cats were Persian males. Church was neutered at a very young age and was a pretty prissy fellow, Louis was neutered a little older and was a real "he-cat". Needless to say Louis was more of a challenge to keep in doors than Church was. If he doesn't calm down you will have to just hope he's okay and accept that he is going to do this for awhile. Good luck.

Its because they're animals, and they were born to be outside. Cats LIKE being outdoors- it doesnt mean he hates you! Male cats wander around all the time. If he keeps escaping, you may need to ask your neighbors to remove the trap or make sure your cat can't get into their garage.

it somewhat is risky for a declawed cat to stay out component through fact their defenses have been taken away and that they can't guard themselves could something commence a combat. you are able to attempt to make or get a super cage to place outdoors for it yet which could get costly. i think of that it somewhat is astounding which you took the cat in and applaud your attempt. In regard to the clutter container issue... every time you spot an coincidence if conceivable p.c.. it up and placed it interior the clutter container. as we talk clean the area very properly ideally with bleach which removes all the scent that pulls the cat to an identical place. Steve is only marking her territory in her new ecosystem and basically telling you which you at the instant are not in fee yet. it would take a million to 2 weeks for this transition to take effect. i'm hoping that each thing improves and as quickly as the cat is soft with the hot place in line with probability she will ultimately bond with you. ultimate desires to you.

The answer is "mother nature". Cats have the instinct to be predicators and explorers. They want to venture out and hunt. He doesn't hate you, but "curiousity got the cat"...he wants out to explore.

mine likes to stay out to,i let in him to eat and sometimes he naps but then he wants out to i guess do stuff, but i let him out because its his right if you have a animal and it wants to go out side let it but he is getting in2 dangerous stuff so you do need to keep him in for a while so he dont hurt his self even more.mine wont even leave the driveway and i have woods and far neighbors so i guess mine is safe but yeah you should keep him in for a while.

Your house may be hot if he's used to living outside.
