Dogs seem especially attracted to cat poop but no it doesn't hurt them eating it. You did the right thing by moving the litter box as a big salivating dog hanging around your butt waiting to gobble up what ever comes out is very off putting for kitty and she may choose to poop some where more private e.g behind your sofa and then you've got a whole other problem!
Also when your dog tries to lick your face, think about what you have observed him eating. ick

My dog used to do it. We had a few outdoor/stray cats that roamed around (the neighbors kept feeding them) and our dog would find their poo in our yard and eat them.
For outdoor cat poo, you should be concerned about possible worms/worm egg situation. That used to worry me. For your own indoor cat, the cat litter attached to the poo could be bad, depending on the cat litter ingredients. So check your cat litter's ingredients and warning labels, as they have warnings for accidental swallowing (for humans).

my pug puppy just started doing this too!
the vet said that cat poop tastes good to them, apparently it tastes just like cat food.
gross.

my dog used to do this and than we asked the vet if it was okey and they said that we probally aren't using food that has enough nutrients in it. So I would try changing your dogs food so it has more nutrients.

dogs eat any kind even their own so no it dont if it did alot of dogs would be dead or sick but you should try to keep him from doing it.

its disgusting, but my dogs do it- though they're outside when they do. It hasn't hurt them yet x_x
