At my school we draw "secret names" so that we can support a co worker throughout the year. My person does cat rescues and I was wondering what is something that she would use a lot of and need more of (besides food and kitty litter)?
Would she need blankets? What about cat toys? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My once mild-mannered cat has become a terror as of late. She meows ALL NIGHT. I don't just mean the typical noctornal-meowing-playing meowing, I mean she's on my bed, in my face and every time I doze off she howls. She's waking the entire household and there's no safe room to lock her in. We have a very small home and she can be heard regardless of the room she's in. She's 10 years old so a little beyond training, although in the past the meowing has never been this extreme. Suggestions for breaking her of it? The only serious change to our habits and household has been the death of our other cat, however, that was months ago and she saw the other cat die and seemed to understand that he wasn't coming back. As a matter of fact, she's seemed quite happy now that she's the Alpha Cat. (could this be a syptom of Alphacatedness?)

I have an adult ( 2yrs old ) cat. We recently got a new kitten. At first the kitten used a seperate small litter pan, about 2 weeks ago I took away the kitty litter pan, and had her start using the big litter box with the cat since she is big enough to get in it. for a week they both used it with no problems. Now suddenly after 2 weeks, the old cat does not want to use it. She goes in my bathroom on the rug, or in the bathtub. Today she went as far as to go poop in it. I know i could just shut the door, but i'm afraid she will go somewhere else.

Is there something I can do to make them both use the same one? Or if i do get seperate litter boxes for them, will they know which one they us and stay with it? I'm afaid if i buy another litter box they will both use just whatever one, and athen it will start all over again.

Please help!!! My bathroom stinks now from the urine.

I'm going to trap a young cat. I want to take it somewhere to see if it has gone completely ferrel, or if I can keep it (which is what I want to do!) I don't have the space in my apartment to cage it. If it's salvagable, I'd like to take it someplace where it will be neutered, given shots, washed, de-fleaed, etc. I'll pay for all of this. So, where's the closest place in Alpharetta to take it?

My daughter bought two sisters siamese kittens from a pet shop. One of the kittens was very underweight and wouldnt eat much. She was told that the sisters had been sold separately and that the kitten stopped eating. That wasnt the case as the underweight kitten has been in the vets with intravenous and the other cat is doing fine at my daughters home. The cat has had various blood tests and the white and red blood cells are low. They have come up with the verdict that the cat is anorexic. They are force feeding her. Should she not gain weight she will go back to the hospital. Anyone have any idea what to do if the vets havent a clue?

In the past few weeks, he has pooped on our bed two times, AND in the corner of our boot room. Its hard stool, so it is not like he has no control. He is acting normal and has been eatting, so I am not TOO concerned, however, I am really curious as to why he is doing this.

start 2 show more affection by just simply walking towards you and sitting on your lap most times randomly or wanting to be petted by you more often or sorta greeting you by meowing and coming towards you wen you come home because my cat started doing this more often about since two or 3 months ago and shes almost 9yrs old now and when she was younger she didn't do that as much, actually she barely did those kind of things so often, and at times I would be the one to have to go to her more often than she did to me., but now not so much.

My cat has gone missing, only for a day and a half, which is unusual, but he is quite an explorer. A neighbour saw a cat being hit by a car nearby, and although he can't say it was my Odin it's quite a coincidence and I fear the worst.

Apparently both wheels of the car ran over the cat, but he got up and kept running into the school ground next to my home. I've been searching for him with no luck so far.

My question is whether a cat could survive trauma like that for long? I'm surprised he could get up and run at all and distressed to think he suffered so much alone. I also wonder what a cat's instincts would tell it to do? I'd like to think he'd have tried to get home (not far) if he could, but I've heard cats will hide when ill or injured.

It's been a day and a half so if it was him I hope he's not still out there alive, in pain and distress. I have to bring my baby home regardless, so I'd be grateful for any tips on what he might have done in the time he had left.

I'm moving 5,000 from Alaska to Indiana and plan on taking my cat who can hardly stand to go to the vet. Is there something I can give him to keep him calm for 5 days? Getting rid of him is NOT an option! Please only suggestions that wouldn't be harmful to him. (He has Asthma)

I adopted my cat from a shelter about 6 months ago. She was very scared and was hiding for a few months. She finally got used to me, but she was still scared of my husband, and when he would come home, she would run and hide. Well yesterday, I brought home a 7 week old girl kitten. So my cat started hissing and growling at her and at me, then she ran away and hid in the laundry room under the cabinets. So my husband is now telling me that he wants me to take the older cat back to the shelter because he hates her, and she hates him. And he wants to keep the baby girl kitty because we will raise her and she won't be scared of us. He says he wants a cat to meet him at the door when he comes home, and not run away and hide. What should I do?? I really dont want her to give her back because noone will want to adopt her, she always hides. And I already love her and feel sorry for her. Please help.

My cat has been scratching non-stop lately. He never used to go to my room but now, the only thing he does is just lay there, on my bed, all day or sits up to scratch/clean himself. He is more irratable than normal and has a place on his back that should have fur but is just bloody pores. I'm positive it's fleas, I just need to know what is the best treatment for him and what I can do for him at this moment to make him feel better. Should I use Frontline? Advantage? or is there something else out there? I care about my cat a lot! Please give me some solidly good advice and I'll choose yours as the best advice, as soon as I find you.

My friend and I were bathing my three cats, and some events occurred which caused some alarm:
A) I was bitten twice, and my friend was bitten once. We cleaned the cuts and are keeping an eye on them, but aren't sure if that's enough.
B) One of my cats took a poop in the bathtub. Of course we cleaned it out with lots of bleach and washed our hands thoroughly, but we are still wondering if there is mroe we should do.
Please Help.

I have a 6 month old male kitten, who is not yet altered. The past two days he's been making those god aweful meowing sounds as if he's going into heat. This morning I woke up to him peeing on my leather jacket which I had left disgarded on my bedroom floor. Perhaps this is a sign he's ready to be fixed? I'm a bit concerned as $$ is an issue at the moment and I'll be unable to fix him for at least another month. Any ideas on how to curb this in the meantime?

Last night, while playing w/ my kitten (5 mo. old) he suddenly was unable to walk, his hind legs stopped supporting him, and after a while he couldn't stand up altogether. He can't lift his head all the way and he has trouble getting food down unless I feed him (he cant control his head movements). I took him to the ER vet and they were confused, said it could be several things but some symptoms point to brain problems, others point to the brain stem, nothing matches up. I had several tests done and all were negative. They suggested a blood test for cryptococcus but couldn't do it as the lab was closed (it was 1 am). Some symptoms match up w/ cryptococcus but many others don't, he lacks a few of the most common ones (sores, drippy nose) and still tries to play, not seeming to notice he can't move well. His heart rate is very high and when I touch near his eyes, he barely blinks. His joints are very stiff and the back of his neck feels swollen. Does anybody know what this is? Help!

The reason I ask is because a friend told me that if you sell them, than more likely you will get someone who will not abuse the kittens or use them for experiments. If I should sell them, how much for? Thanks!!

we just got a new cat and she was from a sod place, dosen`t seem like she has a lot of fleas and seems to look pretty healthy. We are not 100% sure if it is a female.we are going to wait and see if my other cat and the new cat gets along before taking her to the vet to get shots and to get spayed (or neutered) do you thinmk we should wait or take her to the vet as soon as posibble? Also if we are wrong and the new cat is a boy and and my other cat is a boy (he is neutered) do you think they will fight... they usually say two males will fight (but i thought they was only if they weren`t neutered..... what do you ppl think?

Seriously, he barely does, and he gets so dirty and nappy if I don't wash him. I think he might have been taken from his mother too early and he didn't learn to do it yet.
