The reason I ask is because a friend told me that if you sell them, than more likely you will get someone who will not abuse the kittens or use them for experiments. If I should sell them, how much for? Thanks!!

Some people do ask for a small fee exactly for the reason you mention. I have seen ads selling kittens for $20-$25. It may be easier just to give them away, but you can try selling them as even the pound charges a small fee. You might also check out your local independent pet store as they may want to take or buy the kittens from you to sell in their store. I would think that a true animal lover would not object to paying a small amount for a kitten.

Personally I couldn't sell my kittens, I got them all fixed and kept them.
If you cannot do that and do need to give them to good homes, I would suggest that you meet with the people that want to adopt them and see how the interact and handle the kittens. Also make sure that they are not expecting their 6 year old to be the caregiver of the pet exclusively.
If you were to put a price on the kitty's I am not sure what it should be but maybe the price of their vaccinations.
It is up to you at this point to make sure you do your best to give them good homes so if you feel someone that wants them may harm them, don't give them to that person.

I don't think you should sell them. Animals are put down everyday at shelters because they did not find homes and those cats are free. I think you should give them away but feel free to interview the owners and select who you would like to give them to. I got my kitten from a private shelter and went through a battery of questions before I was told to come down and pick one out. You can never guarantee the cat a good life because someone paid for the cat, that only shows that the people have money not a loving home. Interview the new potential owners.

Do a Google search for "cat rehoming fee" to get an idea of the usual fee range.

Mind, a lot of those are from humane societies &c, and the fee includes spaying/neutering, shots, etc.

I'd find out the cost of spaying in your area, and divide it by the number of kittens you have (then, obviously, get your cat spayed, please).

You might say "small adoption fee applies -- negotiable," and use a sliding scale. You shouldn't be looking for actual profit; just something to ensure they're not free reptile food.

Or, don't charge anything, but offer to meet people at a vet's with the kitten -- after they've made the appointment for its first shots and de-worming.

They don't "sell" kittens but local shelters do adopt out kittens at PetSmart. Most all petsmarts have adoptable cats located near the side or back of the store. However, you can't just go buy one. You will most likely have to fill out an application and be approved to adopt the kitten so don't expect to get one the day you go. PetSmart just helps these shelters adopt out the kittens but go check your local PetSmart they should have some kittens. :) Good luck with your new kitty

People pay for them for the same reason.

Whether you sell or give your kittens away, you will never know how they are going to be treated. Once they have lefy your home their lives are out of your hands.

Don't forget people have babies just to be cruel, you can only imagine what that kind would do to kittens - doesn't bear thinking about.

if they're not pure-bred kittens you probably won't be able to sell them. If you give them away just make sure you have a good talk with the possible owner, and ask for their phone number so you can check in on the kitty later on.

Sell them. They're cute now, but having a bunch of cats around is a lot of work. I suggest putting an ad in the newspaper, and if they're not purebreds you could probably sell them for $20 each.

i think u should sell them for $20 each and when u see some people that are interested in buying one, u should tell them all the positive things about them so they know the money is worth it. another thing u could do is turn them into a shelter (one that does not euthanize animals) and then u will be sure they get adopted and find good homes.

You could give them to adoption agencies. In the UK they actually interview people that have applied for adoption and visit their houses to ensure that they are appropriate (houses with gardens are preferred. Usually only older cats are given to households with no gardens to ensure that the cat has at least lived its youth outdoors.)

The average price of a kitten is about £70 sterling. But if you are just selling it to ensure a serious buy £50 should do it.
