This Saturday morning my cat Annie was on my brothers bed and I went to pet her. she had clear drule like stuff coming from her mouth. the tip of her tail was wet too. I went away. about 4 hrs later I saw her outside and she was durling uncuntroleably (im not sure if its dure but thats what im calling it) Annie is acting pretty much the same. She still eats and drinks. But Im really concended. The vet is closed untill monday and i don't know if she can make it that long or not. I could take her to the emergincy clinic and spend about $300. Whats wrong with her? should i wait untill monday? Should I go to the emergincy clinic now?

It sounds to me like your cat has been chewing grass to make herself sick. They do this to help get rid of any hairballs, it's either that or she has eaten something which doesn't agree with her, keep your eye on her, if she is eating and drinking properly, then I wouldn't worry, but if the symptoms get any worse, then ring the emergency clinic and see what they advise, at least that way it won't cost you $300 and you will know one way or another about your cat won't you? good luck and I hope that she's ok........bye X

Don't immediately assume the worse. I had a cat that was slightly retarded and he drooled whenever he was happy so all our beds would have huge wet spots. If this is unusual behavior though, I'd advise taking her to a vet. If she isn't acting too unnormally and drooling is the only problem, it's not an emergency. If she seems to be in pain or anything, take her to the clinic.

Good luck!

If you mean spit is coming out of her mouth, that's spelled 'drooling'. And so long as that's the only symptom, I wouldn't get too worried just yet. Wait for either a good opportunity to see the vet or some new, more dangerous symptom before taking her in.

If, however, she is actually throwing up, which is entirely a different thing from drooling, then yes, you should take her in to the vet.

Call the clenic, and tell them the symptoms. They will either say bring Annie in now, or don't worry about. That way you don't get there and everything is fine, you still will end up paying 300 dollars. Good luck!!!

Well my dog did that once and the vet said it was probably that he ate something weird that really made him drool alot. He said it should go away and it did, but it still happens to him sometimes but he is fine. I assume he has just eaten something weird outside.
If you feel really worried though, I would try phoning the clinic and explaining the symptoms. Usually they are pretty honest and helpful with telling you whether it sounds like you should bring your pet in.

Has she been acting funny, any chance she could have come in contact with rabies? I recommend you go to the animal hospital or your regular vet first and see what they have to say. Call a 24-hour clinic, sometimes they will see animals that aren't there regular patients. Your normal vet should have an emergency line you can call-look in the phone book.

From experience, I'd say she's swallowed something or has something caught in her throat. Take her to the vet. She could die from that! If there's something in her throat, it could require surgery to get it out. Alternatively, she could have been poisoned. If that's the case, she is suffering considerably. You should have taken her to the vet at the first sign of a problem. She is helpless and depends on you for care.

Think you better go to the emergency clinic. Sounds like she has eaten something that is poisoning her system. By monday you may not still have her.

I would call the emergency clinic and tell them what is going on. They can tell you whether to bring her in or not. For what it's worth, I would take her in right away. Good luck to you.
