Our kitten knocked over a wax tart warmer and the wax is stuck to his fur. He is 11 weeks old. Any ideas how we can safely remove the wax. It's mostly on his belly and his tail.

I know this must sound so ridiculous, however my sweet kitten does not eat that much at all.. but has a very full puffy belly. It's causing me to wonder.

Well, Bonnie and Clyde, the two adorable kittens we adopted a month and a half ago are now apparently old enough to get fixed (so sayeth the shelter-- even though they are only 12 weeks). We have a voucher to do it at the shelter where we adopted them. I am very worried though about the anesthetic. I have read all kinds of crazy stuff on the internet about how dangerous it is for some kitties. I will just be devestated if anything happens to either of them. Now obviously, we are going to get them fixed-- there is no alternative. I just wondered if anyone could put my mind to ease about the safety of this procedure. Also, these guys were shelter kitties-- do you think they will think we are abandoning them there? They are like our babies and I don't want them to feel afraid at all. Thanks!

I got my kitten (10 weeks old) about two weeks ago. Originally he'd come up and cuddle with me, very loving. Now every time I try to cuddle with him or have him sit on my lap, he squirms away. I've noticed he'd approach my friends and cuddle with them, but not me. Is it because I got a new puppy two days after him and he's....resentful over the fact I pay more attention to the puppy?

He's also gotten the habit of gently gnawing (but he has sharp teeth) on peoples fingers. Sometimes somebody would rub his belly and he'd like it and then attack them with his mouth. How do I get rid of this bad habit?

Thanks.

way to stop this problem. The other cat tore up my other electronic litter box by shoveling all the litter to where the rake could not move. Since I work, an electronic litter box is a big help to avoid odors . . . or at least it was until she started peeing down the doorway.

I found a stray kitten a week ago. She was very weak, and hungry. I bought worm medication for her and she is putting on weight. I would like to bring her inside. I have never owned a cat. So I have a few questions.

1. Is it hard to litter train a cat?
2. How can I tell how old she is?
3. How can I keep her from scratching everything in sight?
4. Does she need access to food constantly, once a day,or several times a day?
5. How old does a cat need to be to be spayed?
6. I have a dog who will not care if she is here or not. Is there any health risks for her that I should know about?
7. I do not want my house to smell. What is the best brand of litter?

I appreciate any advice you can give me.

Thanks!!!!

Last night my kitten pooed in a box I had in my room and this morning He pooed again in my bathtub.
I clean his litter box everyday and in the 5 months that we've had him he's never done this.
also he is not neutered, could it be time to get this done?

I took my cat to the vet when she had a couple of ticks and the vet gave me a collar for her to wear, but it is made for dogs. The vet tech said that it would be okay, but I know that there are certain chemicals that could kill cats that are harmless to dogs. I don't know if I feel comfortable putting this collar on her.
