I am!!!
I have allergies and asthma and although I can't have my own in my house (I tried taking in a stray when I lived in an apartment but my health got really bad), I goto a cat shelter once a week. I love them so much I started volunteering with the shelter - I became their new webmaster. Their website is:
http://www.rapsociety.com
I sponsor two cats there including one of the strays I fed while I was back at the apartment. The old lady that used to feed her (I fed her as well) decided to bring her to a no-kill shelter because she was moving away and wanted her to be taken care of. Since I fed her too, I wanted to check up on her to make sure she was doing ok, so I thought I would go a few times. Well little did I know that going a few times would lead to every week for over a year now! My allergies do bother me afterwards, although they don't seem as bad as they used to be. I just take some antihistamines for it.
My parents would hit the roof if they knew I went to a cat shelter every week and got close to so many cats. I know it's not good for my health, but I just love them so much and cats are so affectionate and loving and they love me right back!

I've been allergic to cats since I was 18 and I have always had cats, (I'm over 60 now). I have 3 cats presently and love them dearly. They are all indoor cats. I have found with each cat that I have brought into my house that it takes two to three weeks to build up an immunity. My daughters each have indoor cats and when I go to visit them it takes a few days to get used to their cats again. My daughters are allergic also, but we love cats and deal with the problems.

Me. My eyes, throat, and skin get itchy. However, by luck, I was not allergic to my kitten. The vet said I was either allergic to cat hair or dander. So I guess I'm allergic to the dander because my kitty doesn't have any as of now.
My doc recommended daily Claritin although that didn't sound smart to me. You could always take the shot but my doc said that was expensive. I think he was just really anti me getting a kitten. Either way I didn't need any, thank god.
Good luck.

Yes,its me.Some kind of cruel trick.I am allergic and have 6 cats, one sitting on my lap right now.I use flonase nasal spray, and it really works for me,but God forbid if I should touch my eye before I wash my hands. I have always LOVED cats. The things I do for them.

LOL! My niece! Always with the puppies and kittens... I feel like such a meanie telling her to stay away!! Her asthma acts up when she does touch, pet or play with them and I always have to tell her, "Sorry, but I kinda like it when you can breathe!"
This is why we have fish... Shiner, the goldfish, is doing her best to replace the puppy cravings! lol

My daughter. We have five outdoor cats, and I can always tell when she's been cuddling them by the itchy eyes. (on my daughter, not the cats)
