I recently took in a stray cat, and she is very vocal at night. She starts crying when I lay down and goes for hours. She doesn't cry like this during the day. She has food and water and access to her box, but there is still something that I can't figure out that makes her cry. Is there any way to keep her quiet or to teach her not to cry at night?

Ok so my cat is 8 months old, we got him at 8 weeks and he always used the litter box. Recently I returned to work. 3 times now our cat has pooped on the floor. This morning being the 3rd, he did it right in front of me and my husband as we got ready to leave home for work.
I think he might be showing out?
Any ideas?
Thanks

my 5yr old cat won't use the catflap unless i prop open the door for her and even sits outside my bedroom window in the middle of the night crying for me to let her in.

she knows what it's for and how to use it as i have 3 other cats who have no problems at all with it

how can i get her to open it herself?

My 4 year-old cat has been acting very strange for the past day or two. I think she is sick but I don't know what to do. I don't have a car at the moment, hardly any money and they Vet is closed.

My cat (Maggie) has been showing the following symptoms during the past day or two: coughing, vomiting, having trouble breathing, blood in her stool. She is losing a lot of weight.
What is wrong with her? I don't know what to do.
Yesterday I was going to take her to the Vet but I thought it was nothing.

Is there something I can do at home? The only other person that could help me is my sister but she is at work.

What could be wrong with my baby????
She has been a perfectly healthy cat all her life. She got a cold when she was about 7 months and again at 2 years. Other than that, fine.

i have a number of complaints about my cats:

when i try to work or read the paper they have to sit on it
when i'm trying to get ready to go out they sit on me and bat my mascara/mirror/whatever i'm using
when i try to wrap a present they get in the wrapping paper
they chew my feet and lick my eyes at 5 a.m. wanting food
They hog the fireplace and lie right in front of it so i'm still cold.
they try and scrounge food off my plate and off the kitchen worktop

and so on. how do you teach a cat manners?

They are a year and a half old right now, and they were a week old (abandoned) when I rescued them and obviously bottle-fed, taught to defecate, etc... I am the only mom they know and am sick that someone else has them right now, but I get my babies back in 1 month! A friend who knows a lot about cats told me that they will know me when they see me, by smell and sound. Is this accurate? How else will they know me? I am heartsick without them! I guess I am wondering how long their memory is!

In a couple of weeks, my family and I are moving "across town" to a new home. I figure the new home is about 6-8 miles from where we live now. My question has to do with my cat Meg. She's the only cat I have (I have 3) that I never successfully trained to stay inside. She LOVES being outside; chasing mice and the like. What's going to happen when we move? Will she try to make her way back to the "old house"? How can we acclimate her to the new surroundings? Thanks for any help!

My cat has a habit of drinking out the toilet when shes in heat. When she's finished drinking she makes this awful cry that wakes everyone in the house. (She only does this at night) I dont know what to do. It has gotten so bad that the neighbors call and complain about it. She "goes through heat" every month or even twice or three times. Its been like this since she turned 1 this past August.

She opens her mouth like she's meowing, but no sound comes out. I'm going to call the vet tomorrow, but just wondering if anyone has seen this before, what's wrong, and if it's serious. Thanks.

My cat Linus has white feet, except on his back left foot, where he has one gray toe. I think that gray toe is so cute! What features do your cats have that are super cute?

I'm leaving home for a week. Would it be better to leave my cat at home alone with someone to check on her once a day, or to leave her at the house of someone she knows? I can't decide whether it's worse to leave her alone or to move her to a new environment just so she can be around people. Please help!

I know it has to do with the smell of my cat that returned from the vet. The kitty goes up to him, smells him, and then hisses at him. What can I do to make her stop... what do I need to do with the cat that came home from the vet? Help Please!
