Aside from building a run for the cat to play in there are fenceless containment systems. You bury a wire around the perimeter of your property or the area you want the cat to stay in. The cat wears a collar and they get a little zap if they go near the fence. They learn pretty quickly to stay on the right side of the fence. You have to do a little training with them. The product includes all the training info.

Two things you can do:
1) supply your neighbors with anti-cat spray one can get rom pet stores and instruct them on how to apply it to their plants and gardens ...

2) build your cat an outdoor enclosure or cat run so that your cat is contained in your yard and doesn't wander off into other pople's property. I prefer this option becuase it will save you heaps of money in vet bills (becuase you will be protecting your cat frm outdoor dangers) and protect you and your cat from murderous neighbors! Seriously, you can build a cat enclosure using 2x2 (or 2x4) wooden posts and chicken (poultry) fencing wire. Get a hammer, some nails, a second pair of helping hands and you'll wonder why you hadn't done it sooner.

Keep him inside before someone does something to hurt him! It isn't safe these days to let your cat outside like it used to be.

Aside from annoying your neighbors, your cat can pick up several serious (sometimes fatal) diseases. This is especially true for unaltered male cats. It amazes me how the majority of people aren't aware that cats can get "aids" and feline leukemia.

Do your neighbors and your cat a favor, keep him inside. Good luck.

i am a big dog lover and i am not for cats however this is what cats do im afraid and you cannot keep your cat indoors just to please other people. but if he/she is ruining people plants or messing in there garden then that would get people moaning. the only thing i can think of is if they get something in there garden to deter your cat from going in.... cat friendly

I don't think so this is a problem for me, and I don't know why this people complaining. If the cat walking outside, why he/she can't go somewhere else? You must be have some unfriendly people round you. Where I live there is so many cats round my house and I'm always happy see them and give them also some goodies. Talk to this people, why they making problems.

There is a spray that makes cats not wanna go near that area. you might have a little bit of a hard time finding it though, that;s the only problem. It took me months to find it here.
