Last night my kitten pooed in a box I had in my room and this morning He pooed again in my bathtub.
I clean his litter box everyday and in the 5 months that we've had him he's never done this.
also he is not neutered, could it be time to get this done?

If you'll notice cats and dogs smell around before they poo or urinate. Your kitty finds his litterbox this way also, and will poo where he has before. Try cleaning the box every other day and see if he will improve.

My sister has a cat that always poops in the bathtub too. She finally just put him outside because he would not quit. It is time to get him neutered if he is not, I think, at five months. I believe this can be done much earlier even. Does he spray in the house too? I have found some cats/kittens are just better at using the litterbox than others. We have had to get rid of cats that abused the privilege of living in the house. We had one pee on my brand new bed. Some cats are just not polite.

I doubt it has to do with not being neutered but ya its time to get that done.

It may be a simple behavioural problem, cats go through it sometimes for no reason they will just go where ever they want.
Maybe it doesnt like; where the litter box is, if its enclosed it may not like going inside - cats are sensitive to their surroundings.

Ask the vet when you take it in to get fixed

Yes, it is definitely time to have him neutered! But his pooping out of the box may not be related to that; often, when a cat goes elsewhere, he is trying to tell you about a physical or behavioral problem that he has. The only way to know for sure is to consult a vet.

Very definitely right now is the time for neutering. Call tomorrow morning to schedule it. It's great if you can "catch" this at five months before the hormones start to really kick in at about six months.

Cats tend to do things like this to call your attention to it. If he feels that there is something wrong with his health or his poo, then he'll want you to be aware of it, so he poos where he thinks you'll take notice. Check out his poo next time so that you can descibe it when you talk to a vet, which you should do.

Take him to the vet. The majority of the time, improper elimination is caused by a medical problem. If your kitten is experiencing any pain/discomfort while defecating, he'll avoid the litter box because he associates it with the pain.

neuter soon or dont neuter at all. Sounds like your cat is upset with you and trying to let you know, these are typical reactions to a cat who is pissed because you havent been spending enough time with them. Cats can be jealous too, maybe you are dating someone new who is taking you away from time otherwise spent with your kitty.

Get him neutered and try using a different brand of litter. He might not like the smell of it.
