Yes, they hiss. I was at a big cat rescue Father's Day and managed to develop a bit of a rapport with one of the tigers. You are within three feet of the enclosures. We were close and locking eyes while I talked to him/her. When I went to leave, the tiger hissed his/her displeasure. So I stayed a bit longer and when I really went to leave, the tiger roared. The cat apparently liked me and wanted me to stay. So, tigers definitely hiss. It was very cool

No, they do not have the ability to hiss like a normal domestic house cat.

All cats hiss. I wish it were politically correct for people to hiss. There are times....
Cats are such free spirits. They've got that purr which is the sound I most love.
