I really hate it that some people come on a board for people who have cats and post absolutely cruel questions and answers like 'how do you kill kittens' or crap about doing cruel things to cats! What if someone actually reported those people not only to Yahoo, but to an anti-cruelty organization? Why don't they just stay off this board and post somewhere else?

I posted this thing about disciplining my cat and this guy says that if I can't handle my cat I should have him taken away from me. My question then is where, to the shelter? Where since he's not as babyish cute as he's used to be has a 50% chance of being put down? That's dumb and I get angry when people say take his or her cat away if they can't afford it or take care of it to perfection.

My cat has a good life with me, he has a clean litter box all the time (automatic) food so he doesn't starve, a nice sofa or my leg he can sleep on for warmth and even his own nice bed.

The bottomline is, isn't it better to give a cat a good life not excellent, not a rich life but a good life than take it away and put it in a shetler just because it's life is not perfect. Please be careful when you say that a person shouldn't be able ot own a pet or have then taken away. Sometimes it applies but other times, you piss people off by criticizing how they care for "THEIR" pets.

When he has one and the other animals (his mommy, sissy, and dog) come near him, he growls at them.I am always taking them off of him. Has any one ever had this happen? Can the cotton balls hurt him? Thank you!

If your going to be a smart a## dont answer. This is a site to get opinions not rude remarks.

Ok I figure I'm in the minority here since from what I read, most people let their kittens and cats do what they want, THEY are the boss. Not all of you but admit it some of you do, you aren't able to control your cats. In addition, aside from saying No loudly, you hardly ever physically discipline you cat. Now it's your cat, so it's your proragative what you do with it but my cat, when he's bad he get's a knock on the head or a smack on the butt, not that I don't abuse him but I treat him like a fragile girl either (he's male). He knows I'm the alpha in this family and he does things my way. I'm just wondering if the other guys out there treat their cats the same way or does everyone just let thier cat rule the house?

My cat started squinting with her left eye today. It's almost as if she's winking. She only does it when resting, not when she's playing or looking out the window -- both eyes are wide open then. She ran into the closet while we were playing yesterday so maybe she has a bump? She's been fine otherwise -- eating, drinking, using the litterbox. Is there anything I can do to help her? She just went to the vet on Friday and everything was fine then. Thanks!

I just got two kittens and have no idea how to raise them. They are so sweet and lovable, but there is a problem. When they go poopie in the litter box, its all runny and it stinks to high heaven. Can someone give me basic info on kitties, and also tell me why we have this problem. I feed them Iams kitten food, and give them plenty of water. Can anyone help?

My cat is 15 years old. My family has had her since I was born and yesterday she fell and had trouble walking. She falls likes shes drunk and doesnt seem to be in pain. We brought her to the vet and they said everything looks good no sprains or anything except her pottasium levels are low. Could this be why she is walking around stumbling? thanks

I love her dearly, I try hitting her, I try hissing at her, and locking her in my bathroom. I don't know what to do.

I have seen ?'s posted that are so obviously silly and everyone is so serious that you all act like ?'s can only real? Lighten up, folks. Have a little fun with life. The ? about the cat in the microwave was posted by my sister and it was purely for reaction. She doesn't even have a cat.

I have a Maine Coon, he just turned 3. I have 2 problems, the first is, he eats & doesnt gain weight. He has weighed 13lbs for the last year & a half. He should weigh at least 25lbs. The second problem is that he used to be such a jumper when he was young, i mean he could jump on to the tp of the fridge, then one day about 2 years ago he just stopped jumping! now even to jump onto the sofa, its more like he is pulling himself more than pushing. It was after he got nueterd? i dont know if maybe that has something to do with it. And now if you just touch his back legs, he seems to be in slight pain & try to pull away from you. Any suggestions or think you may know why this is. THANKS!

I mean those wooden cat-gyms I see in stores that are for your cat to climb on. Most are so expensive. I have some wood and carpet remnants. I want to make one of my own to save money.

If you have made your own, how did you do it? How hard is it to do?

My cat is a 6 years old male moggy, and lives primarily in-doors. He eats a lot (mainly iams biscuits but also kit-kat pouches) and rests most of the day.

In the last 2 weeks i've noticed that he pees quite often and from today his pee is of a bright reddish colour.

What can be wrong with him? I'm really worried...

Does your cat love it?

I'm REALLY, REALLY ready to buy new furniture as my 2 black cats Wintekang & Onyx have destroyed my couch, two of my chairs & the corners of my box spring. I have to admit when they were kittens, I gave them the run of the house & didn't discipline them like I should have when they began scratching things. They are 3 yrs old now & I REFUSE to declaw them after I found out what is actually done during the procedure. Is it too late to teach them to stop scratching my furniture? I read about some things called "Soft Paws" that are like fake nails for a cat, cute but a little weird to me. (Apparantely, you can get them in colors) I am going to buy two scratching posts this week, since they scratch everything else anyway I should have no problem getting them to use those. I also considered some kind of spray but the reviews about those aren't that great. They are 3 years old now is it too late to stop this? I love my cats and want to keep them but I can't have them destroying new furniture!

I adopted a cat a few months ago. She's around 7 years old. She's a bit overweight so we're watching what she eats and all. The only problem we have with her is that she'll meow at 6 o'clock in the morning until she gets fed, which is usually around 7:30. It's difficult to sleep with non-stop meowing and it seems as if the routine feeding time isn't soon enough for her. Although we can't jump out of bed to spoil her either. Anyone else ever have this problem? Can the meowing be stopped?
