I hope not, my cat sleeps on my bed every night, and my daughter's cat sleeps on her bed, we both have asthma, and when on the odd occasions the cats don't sleep on our beds, we both wheeze, when they're there, we don't. Go figure! Also, there is nothing as soothing as the sound of a cat purring as you drift off to sleep.

Hi Helen...it's not unhygenic if one would like a cat to share our beds with us. Millions of people do this and most are perfectly fine. Even though they may catch rodents or birds they are quick to groom themselves thoroughly afterwards. Any vet can confirm this fact. However, anyone who have sensitivities such as cat dander allergies or asthma may find it's best to give kitty their own bed to sleep in. It doesn't mean that cat is unhygenic it's just that their allergies prevents them from being too close to the cat so it's a matter of personal comfort.

Yes, of course it is. Well, that's assuming you or another person also intends to sleep in the bed. If the cat sleeps on a bed of it's own, that's ok I suppose. You would just have to change/clean it very regularly.

my cats are strictly indoor cats so my cats are more than clean. they both lay on my bed at night and love it. I would have to say that if you let your cats go outside and do God knows what and then let them come back in and lay on your bed than that's pretty nasty and unsanitary. the only dirty problem with my cats is that they shed and it gets all over my bed. but I don't really mind that much. what your doing is kind of gross though in my opinion. no offense or anything. HIH!! Good Luck!!

Maybe it is, but who cares?

It is your cat and he enjoys being in bed with you. So why bother to try and get em out. Sex is not hygenic but people still have it all the time.

I have 2 dogs and 1 cat and I dont care how dirty anyone thinks I am, they will continue to sleep in my bed.

There are a bunch of things you should know about dog training but we are going to discuss what I feel are some the most important. Keep in mind that these are only some of the things you should know. Go here http://OnlineDogTraining.enle.info/?39fj

1. Repetition is the number 1 principle of dog training. Dogs just like humans learn by doing things over and over in order to get better.

2. Dog Training can and should be fun for both you and your new pet.

3. Training sessions should always be short but sweet. I never work a dog more than 15 minutes in a session to keep from losing the dog's attention. You should train you dog at least once a day but never more than three formal sessions a day.

4. Your goal should be that each training session is just a little bit better than the last one. You need to always strive to make the training better, slowly. I mention this because quite often I see people who do daily training sessions but the dog never gets better and it is not the dogs fault.

5. Having patients is very important in dog training. Losing your temper does not work with a canine it simply makes things worse.

6. Exercise is very important in the training process to get rid of all the dogs nervous energy.

7. Taking your pet for walks is very important because it develops serotonin which gives your dog a feeling of well being.

8. Always be sure to give your dog a bunch of praise in your training. It is your dog's paycheck for doing a great job.

9. Never hit your dog. I have heard people say I never hit my dog instead I roll up a magazine and swat it. It's the same thing... hitting is hitting.

10. After each training session be sure to do something that your dog will enjoy. Take it for a walk, throw the ball or maybe even rub its belly. Just do something that makes the dog look forward to the next training session.

These are things that I teach my dog training students as well as my dog training clients. I hope these things will give you something to think about when training your dog. Spend some time training your dog daily and you will both reap the benefits.

No - not at all. My cats have always slept on my bed - I don't get much of a choice in the matter. Even when they have their own beds, they'd much rather have mine. And it's very comforting to have them there, too!

If you dont know where they go at night, doesnt that tell you that you should be keeping them in???Havent you heard of packs of roaming dogs, drunks, perverts who hurt animals, traffic, diseases like leukaemia, cat flu, enteritis????? Its not unhygenic to let them sleep on your bed provided you treat them with Frontline or Stronghold, which kills worms, fleas etc. I have 5 sleep on my bed.

Of course it is. The answer is in the question. However your bed is already very dirty and the clothes need washing oftyen so if someone is comfortable with this what the hell.
