My cat uses a cat door to go in and out of the house but a stray cat is using it now to get into the house and sprays and eats his food. I tried a magnetic cat door but my cat uses his paws (I never knew as it is in a closet!) to open the door and he doesn't get his neck close enough to unlatch it. He can't get in... He is traumatized, jumpy and nervous and I think the other cat is ferral. What could I do to deter him from coming in but still allow my cat access ? Anyone try the infared one? How close does he have to be? He's never worn a collar and I live in the woods and afraid he will loose it or hang up on it.
Thanks!

you can take a dog for a walk, he'll bark if someone tries to come in your house, teach them tricks... a parrot or budgie can learn to talk. etc, but cats well all they do is moon about and do what they want to, eat and crap, won't come when you call them, wont do tricks, and they wont stop a burglar...useless, yes or no?

I have a 3 month old female cat (willow) who for most of the time I have had her, behaved like a normal kitten with her sister (tara) running around, playing etc. However yesterday and today I have noticed that willow doesnt seem to want to move very much. She has no interest in food or play. She stays where I put here (on the recliner at the moment) and just seems to sleep. She doesnt appear to be in any pain when I pet her or pick her up. She has used the litter box, but other than that seems to just want to sleep. Is she ill or is this normal? If she doesnt perk up by tomorrow I am headed to the vet regardless but just wanted some other opinions. Thanks!

If you have time, see this image ,have a plant together it's root.I have seen cats won't move away from this plant's root. They eat it and then roll over the plant too.Playing with the plant between their legs like a precious thing. Can you give the name of this plant and it's original botanical name.Thank you for your help.

My cat disappeared over 3 weeks ago. I went to the pound every other day for 3 weeks and still no sign of her. I felt bad for a kitten and adopted it and the same day i did that my old cat returns ( Im happy) but now they have been hissing at each other for days now. What can I do to help them get along. They wont even get within several feet of each other. Any advise?

she is only 5 years old and she was fixed when she was one, and she has always had a tendancy to meow if i pick her up on the part of her stomach a little under the arms. i just hope shes okay, it worries me, and lately i find shes been sneezing alot. this only started two days ago, its just a spaz of eight sneezes and then she stops. i don't know much about animals but im quite concerned. i just wonder if it can be fleas. or an allergy. like today, i was brushing her and she smelt her own fur and sneezed. whats going on ! thanks !

I'm not keen on putting the new cat in a safe room because the only room I could use isn't air conditioned.

My sister's cat had kittens on her bed this morning. They had made a bed for her in their room next to the bed, but she doesn't want to use that. Everytime they put Mama Kitty in her bed on the floor with the kitties, she carries them back onto the bed. They have a small house. No extra room to keep her locked in. Doesn't want to put her in the living room in her bed because she isn't sure that Mama Kitty won't move them and is afraid someone might step on them if it's at night (she has kids). We thought of a crate, however, it's too late to go buy one and my sister is worried that if Mama Kitty doesn't have access to her litter box, she'll go in the crate by her kitties. Any ideas?

I got them four days ago and have tried everything I have been told to treat fleas on 5 week old kittens. I have washed them once with kitten shampoo, washed them twice with dove soap and have combed them with flea combs more than you can imagine. Although I am not finding many I still find a few and I know that they lay eggs very quickly. I have even removed the kittens and used flea bombs in my house to prevent the kittens from getting any fleas that have fallen off them in the house. Tonight I also put baby oil on them and combed them. Please HELP!!!
