Personality changes can indicate dementia or something is bothering her. Take her to the vet and get her a thorough check up. Tell the vet what you just typed. Good luck, dear.

I had a female cat that would growl at me whenever I picked her up. She was about ten years old. She may be ill or hurt. Take her to the vet and get her checked out. You husband may have accidentally stepped on her at some time, thus making her afraid of him. My cat didn't like heights, she was having a hard time jumping. she could be developing Arthritis. Better to be safe than sorry. Good luck!

Apparently when a cat gets this way she is sick and needs to see the vet. She might be bruised inside and that is why she don`t like you to pick her up but it could be alot of possibilities and if you can afford it take her to the vet and have her checked out....Good luck!

Take her to the vet to see if there is something wrong. A change in behavior can point to something physical going on with a cat.

Sounds to me like she might be sick. I would take her in for a checkup. Sometimes when cats are sick they don't want to be around humans and she probably growls cause she is afraid you are going to hurt her. She is probably sore somewhere.

I think she may need to see a vet.. perhaps has some internal pains causing her discomfort... its so hard to guess here but a vet could give you more insight
