My cat started squinting with her left eye today. It's almost as if she's winking. She only does it when resting, not when she's playing or looking out the window -- both eyes are wide open then. She ran into the closet while we were playing yesterday so maybe she has a bump? She's been fine otherwise -- eating, drinking, using the litterbox. Is there anything I can do to help her? She just went to the vet on Friday and everything was fine then. Thanks!

Forgot -- she had a cold two weeks ago, which I treated with antibiotics.

She might have dust/hair in her eye. Make sure she doesn't scratch at it. You can use eye wash in the eye to help her out, but have someone help you if you do. If the "winking" doesn't stop in a couple of days take her back to the vet.

Assuming kitty does not have a resourceful and prescient concern (examine with your vet to establish), you could exceedingly plenty relax. you could be a staggering proprietor. Your kitty adores you so he's smiling at you. if your cat is pleased with you she or he will have the means to look you interior the eyes and squint or blink rather slowly. The slower the blink the bigger the smile. an rather slow blink is nearly a chuffed little chortle. needless to say purring and nuzzling are expressions of happiness and contentedness too, yet so some distance as facial expressions pass, to paraphrase an old music... "in case you like to renowned if kitty loves you so, it rather is in his blink." the terrific ingredient you're able to do is look kitty remarkable interior the eyes and squint or slowly blink lower back at him. don't be taken aback if he responds via coming over for a "cuddle-and-purr" love consultation.

Watch that eye and if there is any pink/redness or it looks irritated, or she continues to keep it closed, rubs at it, or there is discharge, I would suggest an antibiotic eye ointment that you must buy from your veterinarian, made by Pfizer. It is a yellowish gel, you'll apply it to her eye topically twice per day. Sometimes when they have a virus they can get a secondary eye infection and this will help...anyway, you can probably get it from your vet without a visit, it comes in a little tube and will cost you under $15 and is called Terramycin, again, it is by Pfizer and is very safe to use but you'll need to get it at the vet's office.

I always keep MY eye on it when this happens with one of my cats. It should be gone by tomorrow.

If it isn't, then it needs to be investigated by a professional.
