I woke up this morning and my one cat Oliver was whining which he tends to do before he throws up he did this for about and hour and then threw up. there was a very small piece of string in his vomit. earlier in the morning I put out food for the boys and he didn't come and eat I picked him up and brought him to his food. he didn't eat it all. I took his temp after he threw up and it was 102.8 F. and then I just took his temp again and it was 103.3 which 103 is a fever. I was holding him and he was shaking slightly. he is just laying around not doing too much. He has a vet appointment tomorrow. is there anyone knows what I can do in the meantime. we are just monitoring him right now and I'm taking his temp about every hour if it gets too bad I'm going to call the emergency number.

Thanks!

my male cat is neutered. in the winter he's always inside sleeping and following me around but during the summer he is out all day and all night, only coming in for food and the odd cuddle. where does he go? where does he sleep?! he pops in a few times during the day, walks past and miaws at me and then goes outside again. should I follow him?

I got home about an hour ago after being gone for a few hours. I got home to find my two cats--mother and daughter--yowling and hissing at each other. This is weird, because they're basically best friends. The only other time I've seen this happen is when I took the kitten to the vet to have her spayed, and when I brought her home, the mother started hissing at her because she thought the kitten was a foreign cat--the kitten still had iodine on her belly from the surgery, so she didn't smell like she did before the surgery. After a few days of hissing, growling and spitting at each other (first the mother, then the daughter), they were back to acting like friends. But I don't know what could've happened in the past few hours that now has both of them acting like this. Since they've both been spayed, it wouldn't be hormonal. Any other cat lovers have a clue what the deal might be?

I have a 3 and 1/2 year old Male Himalayan and am thinking about introducing another male cat to the household. I am considering either rescueing an adult male or getting a male kitten. Is this OK? Which would be the better scenario? I also have a small dog (8 lbs) and they get along great. My current male cat is happy and I dont want to disrupt his happiness if another cat were introduced. Thanks for your help!

My mom said that she heard that cats will get you back in your sleep if you irritate them too much.
Ex: If you are constantly throwing your cat around playfully or biting his paw or pulling on body parts and just rough-housing him like that in general, when he does stuff like sleeping on top of your pillow while your head is under it (this is a real scenario) it is a form of getting you back

I dont agree with her statement, but I would like to know if this is actually true or not

I have a cat that will be 22 this month, (I'm 23, so he's like a brother to me). He's still doing really good, he just now has lost a couple of teeth, and misses the litter box a couple of times and he still jumps over the baby gate to get to his food. I also have two italian greyhounds, Phoenix will be a year this 10th, and Maddie will be 3 mo. this 12th.

What about you pets? Have you ever known a pet who lived a REALLY long time?

This is a sincere question. There is something hanging out of his behind. I had thought it was feces and tried to wipe it off with a tissue, but the poor cat howled and ran and hid! Any ideas?

My two aunt are having a disagreement. Please help me to decide who is right! My one aunt (Gail) says that you should never ever feed a cat table scraps. My other aunt (Christy) says that while yes it is best for them to eat mainly cats foods, they like human need a variety of foods too. (such as milk, tuna, and veggies) Not every day maybe, but once in a while yes.My grandmother says just to feed them mouse guts. You know the ones you can buy at the pet store. So my question is, who do you think is right? My first aunt (Gail),my second aunt (Christy)Or my grandmother?
