I believe its just a myth. I have tried it and did not work. There are some good commercial products out there that will help with getting rid of fleas. But the surest way is to get a prescription from your veterinarian or doctor, and treat the infested animals or people and the area where they live, several times every ten days or 12 days to get rid of the eggs, larvae and adult fleas.

I've never tried salt or METH but advantage or frontline work well. I'm pretty sure meth doesn't work because I know some people who use meth and they haven't gotten rid of their fleas.

Don't know about salt, but put one(1) teaspoon of apple cider vinegar per every quart of water in their drinking water and it will stop fleas, ticks, flies, etc. This also works for dogs and even horses. We have used this for years and have never had to buy those expensive flea or fly sprays.

I used salt & Borax and it worked great. Dont use it on carpet/rugs that are tightly woven. Its hard to get the mixture to come out and takes many many vaccums. Also be sure not to use the Borax around small animals or children. But all said, it worked for me.
