If it is seriously an intestinal BLOCKAGE then your cat probably doesnt have enough time for you to explore holistic treatment options. A blockage means your cat can not digest food or pass waste and it needs surgery immediately to save its life. If it is not a blockage try the LAXATONE which is sold in most pet shops and brush kitty as often as possible.

It depends on the severity of the blockage and where in the GIT it is. Your vet may try rehydrating your animal first by putting it on fluids to see if the obstruction passes. If your cat is well and truely blocked the only answer is surgery, a blocked GIT is a very serious problem and needs prompt treatment.

Dear Barb, I know you must be going through alot of worry over finding alternative treatments for hair-ball removal from cats, with the least invasive methods. The only experience that I have become aware of is that of ''regular olive oil,'' administered with a dropper full 3'x per day. An old tyme' chiropractor taught this to me. Also, please try to ''google'' web-sites for ''alternative or holistic treatment of animals, and one of them should answer ''just right to your heart.'' In Goodwill, kunndunn@Yahoo.com

im not really sure what could get the cat to pass it except maybe a food that is known for giving them diarrhea but in the future there is a cat food that helps to prevent them and im not sure but it may also help them to pass the hairballs you should check it out.
