Cats consider their "owners" as their mothers. If the owner is a man, the cat still thinks its the mother. It's very natural for a cat to cuddle up with you if you treat it well. My cat loves to smash her back against my face when we go to bed. Sometimes I'll wake up and she has draped herself across the top of my head with her little face on my forehead. My male cat, however, loves to curl up in a ball next to my stomach when we sleep. If I turn over, he walks across me to get to the other side where my stomach is. My cats are very loving and affectionate, but that's because I love them and treat them well. I'm sure that if you could speak cat and ask them, they'd tell you I'm the best mother in the whole world. Your cat would probably say that about you.

Gawd, yes! I am glad your cat loves you well enough to sleep with you, rather than running away from you. I have 2 grown cats (8 years old) who are brothers and grew up together. There has never been a night when they are not sleeping with me. It is comical to watch them push and shove to see who gets the closest. Blinky likes my shoulders, and Stinky likes anyplace else that Blinky doesn't push him away from. It takes about 10 minutes each night, but I can't fall asleep without knowing they are there. So, they are more of a comfort to me than I am to them...I think. Plus during the winter I don't have to use an electric blanket. Cuts down on the electric bill!

I don't think it's actually cuddling. Cats like to sleep near warmth, as do all pets. Your chest, neck, and head are the warmest parts of you, so naturally, that's where your cat will lay. I've actually heard of cats who nearly suffocated their owners by laying on their owner's face.

If you don't want your cat doing this, better leave it outside your bedroom door when you go to sleep.

Yeah, it's normal for a cat to cuddle. That's just his particular quirk about having his head under your chin. :)

Lucky you! Some cats are just really big cuddlers - I really miss a cat I used to have who was an extreme cuddler. The one I have now - not so much...

some cats are cuddlers. one of my cats runs from me durring the day for the most part. I think that has a lot to do with that I'm the one stuck giving him his meds every day so he sees me as the giver of yucky stuff. but every night he has to sleep with at least part of him on me.

Consider yourself lucky to have such a cuddly cat. One of mine lays curled over the top of my head or along side of me. I have one that likes my feet and another that likes my side. They got me covered. LOL.
