What happens if a canine distemper shot is given to a kitten instead of a cat distemper shot? An assistant at my vet gave my kittens the canine shot instead, but they said they will be fine. I'm just worried...has anyone had this happen?

always has to chew on my fingers, she is not chewing with her teeth, just the gums on the side of her mouth, she doesn't act like they are huting her and she is to old to be teething (if cats teeth) Do you think this is just comforting to her? Has anyone else ever seen this before? Also the other pitcure is of my kitty, Pietre's 7 toed paws! Cute huh!

I have a female calico who is 2 and 3 boys who are 3, 2, and 2. I enjoy my boys more then my girl because they are soo laid back. They are also all fixed, on the other hand I have a female who loves only me, hate the youngest boys, and adores the alpha male of the household. I was wondering which do you prefer from personal experience. I would choose Male over female.

We just got our first cat and so far she's been just perfect. One thing that I've noticed, which I'm sure is true of most cats, is that she doesn't seem to respond at all to her name. I think part of this is because she's a cat but part of it may als be due to the fact that we've given her a new name (she's from the pound). Is there a trick to teaching her to respond when we call her name? Is there any hope?

He is 18 weeks old. He is always sneaking in the basement, I don't know what is so interesting down there. I don't think we have mice or anything. The other day I noticed on the one side of his face his wiskers were singed. Also his one eye was half shut and has a yellow discharge. Also on a couple spots on some of his paws looked rotted and scabbed over. I have never saw this before. Especially the paw thing. Otherwise he acts normal. Some people have said maybe he got burned but I don't think he did. What could be wrong with him, especially the paws?

I have two cats. They always get dry cat food but 3 times a day I'll give them a little canned. They love that and after they eat it both of them will move their paw in a motion as if a dog was burrying it's bone. It's funny. Sometimes theyll totally push the plate away while doing it. But they keep making the motion as if theyre burrying it or like when they burry their junkies in the litter box. It's weird. They don't do it all the time but very often. They just brush the tile floor, all around the paper plate, but barely hitting it..

I have a question about an issue my cat is having and I need to give a fair amount of history. This site limits the size of a question. Is there anyone out there I can write to?

I have a male cat that was a inside cat for 8 years until he was thrown outside 2 years ago. We had him neutered when he lived inside. I saw my other male cats the other day taking turns with my female cat and I was shocked to see my neutered cat getting on her too. Is this normal? I did not know that they even wanted it anymore after they have been fixed. My husband seems to think that he is seeing the other male cats and learning from them but I dont know.
